Police have dramatically changed their account of how the Las Vegas massacre began on Oct. 1, revealing Monday that the gunman shot a hotel security guard six minutes before opening fire on a country music concert raising new questions about why police werent able to pinpoint the gunmans location sooner.
Officials had previously said that gunman Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nev., shot Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos after Paddock had unleashed his deadly volley at the Route 91 Harvest festival, an assault that began at 10:05 p.m. and left 58 people dead, with hundreds more injured.
They had credited Campos, who was shot in the leg, with stopping the 10-minute assault on the concert crowd by turning the gunmans attention to the hotel hallway, where Campos was checking an alert for an open door in another guests room.
But Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said Monday that Paddock shot Campos before his mass shooting at 9:59 p.m. and they now dont know why Paddock stopped his attack on the crowd.

OVer the weekend there was an article which said that the police engaged Paddock when they first went to Campos’ aid.
Now, it is true that we are hearing conflicting information due to the amount of sources.
Yesterday’s change in the timeline is a game changer. Some of us have doubted the “hero security guard story” from the beginning.
We need to see a moment to moment timeline that is consistent with fact and logic.
When was Paddocks time of death. Not sure how accurate the coroner can be, but this seems to be crucial information.
Well, that video will is probably with the other secret squirrel/insurance gag order stuff. Once the investigation is done, we can FOIA it.
Oh PS-re your name. Did you read that book?
No I like Neil Diamond; especially that song.
Crazy stuff going on the shadows.
I went to that website. Cannot find the article you mention.
Never mind. I found it on PAGE 2.
Considering that the only real scenario we’ve been given by the PO-PO was dead wrong, and within a day they kept pushing this scenario, it’s time for new management.
McCabe has his nasty fingerprints all over this.
At this point why should we believe their 6 minute story?
How do we know it wasn’t 45 minutes before the shooting started? (when the woman in the crowd was yelling about dying) Maybe the guy that got shot called her and told her about a shooter? Who knows?
Have we had any real proof of when the windows were broken?
Has the yelling woman in the crowd been interviewed?
I have faith in the integrity of the sheriff's dept., local PD., but this was really bad.
If they wanted to encourage conspiracy thinking, they are on the right track.
You have a valid point.
Honestly at this time we have nothing, so any point is valid, even the ISIS/CIA/NSA/CHINA/IRAN/Hillary/#DEEPSTATE/NORK/RUSSIA/BLM/Antifa/IRAN connection scenario’s.
Has the woman yelling to the people in the crowd been identified? Has anyone interviewed her?
Does she know the guard that was shot?
I take everything I hear with a grain of salt.
First, it doesn’t make sense to me that the shooter would pump 200 rounds into the door over five minutes before firing outside.
Second, those shots would have been going into the next room or the hall. All sorts of people would have heard it.
Third, you wouldn’t have had just a single wound to the security officer.
Fourth, you would have tipped off your location.
Fifth, you’d have given the police a five minute jump on you.
This is not making sense, but I have never expected it to.
Jim, my thought would be various sources.
The police scanner record of the event.
Media observations.
The live action and telephone captures at the event. Each are time tagged.
Then you have the officers reports, hotel staff reports, eye witnesses...
Perhaps someone else has a much better answer.
A maintenance worker on the 32nd floor has at times been mentioned in association with the security guard. Connected with the room or just coincidental?
What actually occured was that the Terrorist was screwing the exit door shut with his drills and bits. That set off amn “open door sensor on the 32nd floor so the security officer comes up as standard policy to check why.
Two things now seem clear. 1. Six minutes prior to the terrorist massacre there was irrefutable evident that the shooter was on the 32nd floor. 2. The security guard was wounded on the 32nd floor and radio his location to the main security office.( they absolutely have lapel radios.
THat means that the sheriff had 1 hour and 16 minutes to get in there and in fact had 6 minutes to stop the shooting!!
That would be a viable explanation for her depending on when she started her warnings.
The guy fired 200 rds through the door at the bellhop. That would take a little while.
Your point is well taken . My understanding is that the security guard ( why is he being kept quiet?) confronted the terrorist at the EXIT DOOR in the hall way and shoots him in the leg while he drilled the door to the door frame. Why did he soot 200 rounds out his room door? I think that may be a lie. If the swat guys had been shot at they would be bragging about it. What the hell was going on here.??The guard takes 200 rounds? I want this guy on tv ASAP!!
