I imagine that this will light up the comments section, but someone needs to write it: the conspiracy theories cropping up over the Las Vegas shooting are as noisome as mushrooms on a dunghill after a spring rain. In discussing some of the more outlandish and offensive ones, I will not document them lest I drive more traffic to the authors' websites.
Law enforcement is withholding information from us.
Of course it is. It always does. That's called good practice before police have interviewed all who might have information scarcely a revelation.
Do I wish they would release all the data after the investigation is complete? Yes. But that has never been standard practice in this country, nor in any other. Conspiracy theorists would do well to remember Occam's Razor.

He hadn’t owned the plane since 2013 and lost pilot certification about the same time.
People can chase daydreams but if this guy had not been on psych drugs it would never have happened. The correlation is nigh on 100%.

Let me see if I got the message from your American Thinker essay: American men who seek and attain power are inherently incapable of the venal, brutish, self-serving megalomaniacal behavior that fills the history books. And, of course, the Deep State is a figment of our imagination and the leftists who are seeking to disarm us want only the best for us. (Search Larry Grathwohl at YouTube for more on that one!)
I feel SOOO much better now! Thank you.
Hate to spoil an otherwise pleasant Arizona day, but the 20 minute video (at the link below) just came through here and it MAY help you understand why the pace of these horrific events -- like Las Vegas -- is increasing.
Venal, grasping and brutal men (and a few women) have sought and attained power over other, more peaceful men for eons: The Borgias, Henry VIII, Ivan the Terrible, Robespierre, Stalin, Hitler, the North Korean Kims -- it's a long list.
At some point, all such men understand that to attain TOTAL control, they MUST get their hands on the levers of GOVERNMENT POWER in whatever system they find themselves. Henry Kissinger frequently observed -- correctly -- that to such men "Political power is the ULTIMATE APHRODISIAC".
While you and I cannot fully relate to it, those in that mindset can justify ANY exercise of that POWER -- ANY ACTION -- no matter how brutal or extreme -- to increase and enhance a sensation that, for them, is beyond anything a "normal" human will experience outside sex. (This personality defect probably explains why Washington is the site of so many sex scandals and -- while hard to determine the exact numbers as it is "illegal" -- has a large and growing number of "sex workers".) And, frequently, to live with those otherwise despicable and loathsome actions, these people will convince themselves by muttering "It's for the greater good." (Actually, most all of it is for yet MORE POWER and WEALTH!)
Keep those historically verified truths in mind as you watch the video. But, be warned: You will find yourself becoming very angry.
As for a solution to the problem, I keep returning to the old line that "Politicians and baby diapers should be regularly changed -- and for the very same reasons". We got a start on that in November. If this place is to survive, we'd better keep it up!

PS: I'd urge you to watch it ASAP. It will probably be taken down by the Google Gestapo once discovered. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvk0A0KTc1M

I am baffled at how you got that message from my essay. Is English prose really that hard to understand? If you care to reread it, I was writing about the explanations put forth as to what happened in Vegas. I was not writing about the Deep State, or "American men who seek and attain power," or their "venal, brutish, self-serving megalomaniacal behavior." Are those problems in America in 2017? Absolutely. But that was not my subject. That would be a different essay, one perhaps you could write. I'm not saying there was no conspiracy, just that too many of the explanations that I have read extrapolate way beyond what the available evidence will bear. Worse, lack of evidence is taken as evidence. One commenter posted, "I would not dismiss any conspiracy theory." Not one? How about the assertion that pictures taken the next day showed no bodies, therefore there were no casualties? If the notion that emergency personnel should have left all bodies on site for 10 or 12 hours for a photo op is not ludicrous, I don't know what is. Another accused me of making fun of the theories I dealt with. I thought I was quite temperate. Perhaps it was my labeling "ludicrous" the above theory about no bodies. Is "ludicrous" insensitive because it suggests laughter? Well, I deem that theory laughable, but maybe I should have used "stupid" or "ignorant" or "depraved" or "utterly beyond the pale" or some such.

hp, If I DID misread your essay, accept my apology. I've been deeply concerned with the course this nation has been on since my days in the USAF during the Vietnam fiasco. Many of my friends and kids who were my combat engineering students as Permanent Party stationed at Corps of Engineers HQ (then at Fort Belvoir) have become names on The Wall.
The timing of your reply would seem to indicate that you did not see the accompanying video. Please do view it as it MAY produce the same cognitive dissonance such information produced in me when I first confronted it. But the evidence mounts that something deeply wrong is going on behind the scenes here. If you are not up to speed on that, Larry Grathwohl (an FBI informant in the PRE-MUELLER/COMEY days when it was a tad more trustworthy) can help. The link to HIS short video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2JHHN1qhyQ
And if you completely, totally trust the FBI, you need to read Hugh Galyean's letter at the link below. Here's MY back story on that.
I fear now that the FBI is deeply engaged in what, in earlier times, would have been a largely LOCAL matter, we will never know the truth. Factor in the rot now evident at the top levels of the FBI thanks to the obozo holdovers and perfumed princes hanging to get their gold watch the Keystone Cops would proababy do a better job, mainly because they don't have an agenda and want to.
Back in late 2016, retired FBI Agent Hugh Galyean wrote a SCATHING rant on the Comey/Hillary thing. I found his phone number out in L.A. and left a message thanking him. A few hours later my phone rang. It was Hugh who went off in Comey and several others at the top of the organization. He made it clear that all the current and former agents with whom he was in contact were FURIOUS at Comey and the other top brass. It was clear from his comments that there was MAJOR ROT at the top of the outfit he'd honorably served or decades.
If you don't recall him or that letter, it's at the link. http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/10/a_retired_fbi_agent_addresses_james_comey_on_the_hillary_clinton_investigation.html
Note that Hugh's missive graced the pages of the AT as well.

Dick Bachert PS: Oh yes. If you're not familiar with the name, here's a link to an interesting video on two time CMOH recipient General Smedley Butler, who, well ahead of Dwight Eisenhower's famous warning about the Military-Industrial Complex, wrote about it in his book, "WAR IS A RACKET". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58pTA2fUxA8
PPS: Like the sheep too many of us have become, we're being slowly herded into the Utopian socialists' New World Order. Where before "they" were using Border Collies and whistles, because we were not responding quickly enough, stronger, MORE ACTIVE measures have been called for by the oligarchs and our would-be masters. What's the old saying that covers this? Oh yes: "You can't make an omelet WITHOUT BREAKING A FEW EGGS."
Perhaps 60 will work!
James Files fired the shot that killed JFK. Watch his interviews on YouTube.
As for Paddock, why did he bring so many guns to the room? If he had Tannerite in his car and more ammo that indicates he planned to escape the hotel and continue more mayhem but he obviously wouldn’t escape with more than a couple rifles at best. That makes no sense. The room was in his name so he made no attempt to do this covertly- that indicates he knew he was a dead man walking.
He brought a hammer for the window and cameras to keep a lookout- so it’s not a gun deal gone bad or whatever flavor conspiracy is hot today.
I don’t buy that he converted to Islam, there is nothing about this guy that gives any evidence to that and his gf sported a cross necklace in photos. Nothing about her says islam either.
The most logical and obvious reason he did this is depression and disillusionment with life. He decided to kill himself and take people with him. He didn’t “just snap” and wasn’t acting “crazy” in any way people who knew him could see. Perhaps he wanted to top his father.
One interesting thing the hooker said: that he was paranoid and would rant about 9/11 being a government inside job and other conspiracies. She said he stated “he had bad blood and was born bad”. This is one way to prove that to the world.
Ironic that he himself has become a huge conspiracy.
What’s strange to me is he got a scrip for valium from a doc in Henderson and picked up the scrip at a wallgreens in Reno the same day. Let’s see. Eight hour drive, hour and a half flight or was it a call in. Doc shopping? Treated by this doc while house hunting in Mesquite NV?
Granted your point, A Theory on Las Vegas should be read as an alternative (psychotropic medication) theory.
He was a millionaire. If he made millions through illegal activities, he was a high level criminal and was involved with dangerous people. It may sound far fetched but I’m not sure that it sounds more far fetched than the story of legitimately making 5 million dollars through online gambling. What’s more likely? I don’t know.
What says this guy isn’t associated some way with Eric Holders crowd? It could be a way to get gun control through. It is a dark thought but I never thought the JD would be running guns. This is what happens when the JD becomes the enemy.
I could say the same thing about the Russians hacking the election. And we all know its a bunch of bunk.
Last I knew, the swat team had no idea of when Paddock allegedly put a bullet through his own brain either. He was dead when they entered the room and they didn’t hear the shot that ended his life last I knew.
“And who cares if his license is expired, theres way around that.”
Yes. He could have renewed it. I haven’t seen anything about a currently owned aircraft. His Cirrus was stored until 2010 at Mesquite’sairport. That plane has been sold.
Some people believe what they want to believe and there are some who really, really, really want to find out this guy was a muslim convert. There are people on the left and right that want to score political points with this tragedy.
It certainly seems there was someone else involved with Paddock, therefore there must be a conspiracy of some sort. The word “conspire” is derived from the Latin and literally means “breathe together”.
There is a very good chance that one of the conspiracy theories that are out there is accurate. The only question is which one it is.
Therefore, any and all discussion of these theories is entirely appropriate.
Except there are cameras everywhere. The "clowncar" will be on tape. If the tapes are being suppressed or destroyed, then you have conspiracy.
That is not what I have read. Supposedly, the guest areas on the 32nd floor did not have surveillance cameras.
I actually recall reading these theories about Pearl in normal history books...
IOW, it was an historians right, if not duty, to investigate all research and sources.
The books I read on Pearl ALL discussed this possibility; it looked like the Japanese Embassy staff in D.C. was burning documents the day before Pearl.
But someone replied to my thread here correctly: it’s like erroneously being called “racist” now being called a conspiracy theorist.
Tucker Carlson, whom I sort of like, even used the term to ridicule anything but the MSM narratives when discussing Charlottesville (I think it was Charlottesville, but it may have been more recently). And this was AFTER is was revealed that the fake “alt right” perps at Charlottesville were CIAState with paid gigs at CNN!
So Tucker was doing it on so called “right” — shutting down normal discussion with ridicule.
And this makes him a “coincidence theorist” LOL...
