Third world immigrants arrive knowing how to game the system. Part of that is voting for the party that will give them other people’s money.

We bring in 1.1 million LEGAL PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS annually, 87% of whom are minorities as classified by the USG. Since 1990 35 million legal permanent immigrants have entered the country, which is the equivalent of the current population of Canada, the last two decades of immigration are the two highest in our history.

In 1970 one in 21 was foreign born; today, it is a little less than one in 8, the highest in 105 years; and by 202 one in 7 will be foreign born, the highest in our history. Immigrants and their children account for 80% of our population growth. The demographics of the US are changing rapidly as a result. The Dems are on the cusp of being the permanent majority party. They have won the popular vote in 6 out of the last 7 Presidential elections.

Dan, you are delusional. The demographic make-up of Houston or CA results in Dem control.

Possibly I am delusional

1. most people with a STEM background, engineers particularly will tell you that "Figures lie and Liers figure"

So in the Houston Mayoral runoff - with about 100,000 people voting your STATISTICS have no value, the stats themselves may very well be accurate but of no value in any given election. This past election cycle had STATISTICALLY Dem. states give more votes to Trump.

2. Venezuela - Were the people there in 1996 when they voted in Chavez delusional, are they delusional today, now that they can see first hand what Communism looks like. Things I fully remember from my childhood in Communist Czechoslovakia

Oh, and by the way - Does that make me a Communist-Slovak-american?

3. Some recent columns out of California - Some locals in L.A. (Not lower Alabama-:) ) and San Francisco are complaining that there is a lack of affordable restaurants. Gee, the Statistics of Dems favoring "livable wages" for are astronomical, I wonder why these individual Dems. who as a collective are statistically morons, do not spend their non-existent $$ on paying "Living Wages" to the suffering restaurant workers.

Oh, and another category of new Dem. talking points - no, not really new - Sex workers - I know no one here would call a Whore a Sex Worker - well, except maybe for Hillary and Harvey W.

The rain is over here in South Central Alabama. It went from (gauge for 2017) 50.58 inches yesterday to currently 54.74. So not even 5 inches total. Strongest wind gust 35 mph. Currently 8 mph!

Wishing all hurricanes/tropical storms were so mild!

Continuing our discussion on Statistics

1. A side bar on Immigrants - At the end of WWII - the other big one - The U.S. and Rusckies divided up the remaining spoils of ware that were left on Germany. The Rusckies took factories, they dismantled them and brought them to Russia. The Americans, with better leadership now that the Commie FDR was dead, took almost all of the German scientists. Von Braun being the most famous.

2. Trumps’ Tax cut Plan
If you would be kind enough to pull the Stats on who plays FEDERAL Taxes.
I would be willing to bet a ton of $$ that we have people on this forum who are retired and therefore probably pay $0 in Federal Taxes. The rest of us more than likely fall into pool that pays Federal Taxes.
Now the interesting statistical fact is that upwards of 60% of working population (legal and illegal) pay NO FEDERAL Taxes.
What I would like to see is EVERYONE pay SOME Federal Taxes before any Deductions are provided

Plus, among non-Hispanic whites in Houston, the gays/lesbians/trans among them are well organized. Yes I know that some individuals might vote for Trump but a small percent are Milos.

Wall assess is a terrible news interviewr...HE is angry personally, attacks and interrupts the guest, makes constant sarcastic comments as “ response” with a look of disgust, cuts off the guest when they are answering questions.

If he was in a high school class on interviewing....HE would faied on competence and professionalism.

So in the Houston Mayoral runoff - with about 100,000 people voting your STATISTICS have no value, the stats themselves may very well be accurate but of no value in any given election.

The stats have value because they are a representative sample of the voting population as a whole. They have value just as much if not more than a poll. FYI: The Dems have controlled the office of mayor in Houston since 1982.

This past election cycle had STATISTICALLY Dem. states give more votes to Trump.

That makes no sense. Hillary received 3 million more votes than Trump. There were a few states like WI, PA, and MI, that saw Trump garner more votes, Dem and otherwise, than was previously the case. The top three popular), and voter totals in history are Obama (2008), Obama (2012), and Hillary (2016).

2. Venezuela - Were the people there in 1996 when they voted in Chavez delusional, are they delusional today, now that they can see first hand what Communism looks like. Things I fully remember from my childhood in Communist Czechoslovakia Oh, and by the way - Does that make me a Communist-Slovak-american?

Are you off your meds? What connection does the results of Venezuelan elections have to do with what we are discussing re the demographic impact on election results?

LA and SF will remain overwhelmingly in control of the Dems just like the entire state.

Oh, and another category of new Dem. talking points - no, not really new - Sex workers - I know no one here would call a Whore a Sex Worker - well, except maybe for Hillary and Harvey W.

You shouldn't be drinking so early in the day.

Wow—nothing of what you just posted re: voters, particularly in Houston, is true.

You are correct, I was off by a bit - 108,000 or so voted for Truner and 104,00o or so voted for King. In s city with 2.5 million residents - Can you elaborate on where I was wrong?

With all precincts reporting, Turner led King by just under 2 percentage points in unofficial returns, 50.96 to 49.04. King conceded the race shortly after 10:30 p.m., telling backers, "I encourage you to support Sylvester."

The race was expected to come down to the wire, and it lived up to the hype: Turner won by just over 4,000 votes out of nearly 212,700 cast.

WOW!

Has anyone run a simple correlation between growth in immigration and growth in Dem voters?

As we both know our immigration policy is insane. We need to bring in probably half or less than what we are bringing in now and only those who have assets they bring with them and can actually help the countr.
Those people exist and are quite easy to find. But we don’t do it.

The Dems have controlled the office of mayor in Houston since 1982.

Yes, like All the Southern states, Texas still has many yellow dog Democrats. Most of the Southern state senators were Democrats not that long ago. Some, like Corker in Tennessee, represent that generational demographic. The issue in the Houston Mayoral runoff came down to turn out 104,000 or so "republicans" showed us to vote for the "conservative" King. A 108,000 or so blacks and teachers showed up to vote for the black Truner. I do not see how statistics apply in this run off. I do see that unless people are really motivated - usually by pocket book issues - they simply do not show up to vote.

Hillary received 3 million more votes than Trump. There were a few states like WI, PA, and MI, that saw Trump garner more votes, Dem and otherwise, than was previously the case.

I think this is a case of misreading statistics. In the Electoral collage the 3 million more votes Hillary received were totally irrelevant. What counted were the States of PA, WI and MI - statistically Democrat voting blocks. Again the issues in these states more than likely had to do with pocket book issues. Trump bringing jobs, Hillary killing Coal jobs.

What connection does the results of Venezuelan elections have to do with what we are discussing re the demographic impact on election results?

People are people, it make no difference where they live. If enough uneducated / fooled by the press people show up to vote, we here in the U.S. of A could end up in the same situation as the Venezuelans.

You shouldn't be drinking so early in the day.

I have a late game today - no drinking until after the game. We know God loves us - he gave us good German/Czech bear
