More like just naive as to how rotten illannoy is.

I was stopped for speeding in Iowa—on a country road—was lost, no idea where I was, speed I was going...My GPS was not functioning as too rural...I was pulled over—going 265 over...Though the officer was nice enough to write the ticket for going 10 over, my ignorance of the posted speed did not get me off...

They may be naive—but if a person want to own firearms, they need to be cognizant of the responsibility placed on them...part of that is not only knowing the proper operation and safety issues, but the laws... BTW, pretty much the whole country seems to know that Cook County (Chicago) has very strict gun laws. IMHO, no excuse. Bad timing bad optics**

** (see my post #98 on my spouse bringing Himalayan salt thru TSA—same thing—bad timing and super bad optics! Nearly missed a flight!!

The only requirement for traversing illannoy with firearms in a car for non residents are that they be in a case and unloaded. Now be aware that shitcago/crook county have a variety of idiotic local ordinances regarding “assault weapons”, magazine capacity, and laser sights. How strictly they are enforced and even what they are continues to be an enigma. To my limited knowledge, because of ambiguity and conflicts with state law I am not aware of many problems. As alwnays though you are at the tender mercy of Chicago cops and return of firearms is problematic,
