I personally think that’s the reason why they aren’t selling seats in Los Angeles. There are no American citizen Angelenos left.

Is MLB still OK?

There was one bozo for the Oakland A's who knelt. He got sent back to the minors the next day.

The Yankees did an absolutely beautiful job with both the anthem and a moment of silent PRAYER for the Las Vegas victims and their families.

The numbers show a 12 percent drop in viewership among the 18 to 34 age bracket, a six percent drop among middle-age viewers, and a four percent drop in the over 55 demo.

This is the key takeaway sentence of the article. It seems to support that the NFL is losing the critical youth. They are both not engaging with football fandom or are dropping out.

The 6% drop in middle-age viewers is key as they are the key to what's really happening with NFL viewership.

The 4% drop in the over 55 segment is likely the NFL's hardcore, long-time fans who are giving up watching the NFL for a reason, although leaving the NFL is likely the most difficult for this demographic group.

This is just insanity. They are doing everything they can to insult and antagonize their core audience and most of the people they are trying to kiss up to are not even football fans and viewers in the first place.

Yes. The division series playoffs started yesterday. There should be some excellent games coming up.

Each percentage drop is hundreds of thousands of people, and that's just the beginning of the story.

As these millions of fans walk away from a sport they've watched since childhood, they no longer participate in the ancillary activities of buying team gear, or talking about the game with family and friends.

The sport loses it's visibility at homes and in workplaces, and new fans are harder to find.

It's a spiral that could go on for years, maybe never coming out of it.

For decades, baseball was the most popular sport. Football passed it a few years ago, but that dominance is not permanent. Watch as baseball makes a resurgence, and hockey grows to it's best years ever.

Discovered there’s a lot of stuff I can get done on a Sunday afternoon.

I discovered it doesn't matter what's on when I take my Sunday afternoon nap.

Remember, it's not about the flag or disrespecting the military.

It's about protesting police brutality, specifically the Las Vegas police who disrespected a player who was fleeing from a casino shooting (NFL players seem to have the worst luck being at the wrong place at the wrong time/sarc).

The same Las Vegas police who, both on duty and off duty, responded to heroically to a mass shooting and saved many lives.

Several officers were killed or wounded.

for a bunch of guys who shout BlackLivesMatter, the players seem totally unconcerned about a black police officer who died heroically in the tragedy. with not a peep out of them.

I lived in the Torrance/Manhattan Beach vicinity for 40 years before moving to North Carolina in 2015. Los Angeles didn’t have an NFL team for about a couple of decades and nobody cared. Nobody except the politicians and fat-cat NFL owners who were always looking for some sweetheart deal from the politicians. The more SoCal became de facto Northern Mexico, the less people cared about American football.

Or read the phone book.
