I’m sure this story is to exonerate his girlfriend/wife, Marilou.
How could she know or participate in anything if she wasn’t aware of his ‘secret life’?
It’s Vegas so this sheriff is hedging his bet by invoking a lack of information to cover any holes in his investigation.
‘spent decades acquiring weapons and ammo and living a secret life, much of which will never be fully understood’
We may not know what he had for breakfast in June 2011 but the rest of the ‘secret life’ relevant to the case can and should be un-secreted.
If it’s less than a week after the attack why is the sheriff so keen to declare the case an unsolvable mystery?
PS - despite the criticism I’m on your side, sheriff. Resist offers of so-called help from the feds who have demonstrated they are purely political animals.
What would be the point of the shooter bringing that many guns to his room? Would be impossible for him to use that many rifles.
And yet his airplane was removed from one (but not
BOTH) of the Registries — because it was
tied to the US Govt.
And not a word from the MSM.
Why doesn’t he say what makes him think the MURDERER lead a “secret life”? And stop calling him “the gunman!”
So having 43 guns, 1600 rounds of ammunition and some Tannerite means he had a secret suspicious life? The brush is painting too broadly and looks like it can be spun to cover anyone with a firearms collection.
He could have had another computer that he destroyed before he checked into the hotel, knowing that police would search his other computers.
I predict the sheriff will soon be elbowed aside by fedgov agents who are better trained in the art of speaking for hours without revealing the slightest bit of information. This guy seems genuinely interested in informing the public as much as he can. That is anathema to fedgov control freaks and truth suppressors.
>Lombardo said Paddock had 1,600 rounds of ammunition and several containers of an explosive commonly used in target shooting that totaled 50 pounds in his car. But it wasn’t clear what, if anything, Paddock planned with the explosives, he said.<
Doesn’t everyone drive around with explosives in their cars, with no plans for it?
That’s the dumbest statement I have ever heard.
If ‘leading a secret life’ is defined as having 43 weapons, 1600 rounds of ammo, and 50 pounds of Tannerite, then FR must be composed ultra-secret lifers.
(Only 1600 rounds?)
is 1600 rounds a lot? if he had 43 weapons that is only 37 rounds per weapon. Unconfirmed reports say I may or may not have a lot more than that.
If the Federal Bureau of Incompetence is involved you know his life is being whitewashed.
How is this for a scenario?
Paddock did work for the government, either directly or indirectly, that made him lots of cash money. Then, his insanity erupted. The government would rather not have this, er, revenue stream for services rendered, visible to the public. Since there is no way to manufacture a plausible lie about his motives, the only option is to say, ‘Gee, it will be a mystery forever!’
Did he plan to place the tannerite on the fuel tanks?
Maybe he just couldn’t get past the security fences.
Keep safe Sheriff!!!!
Decades “stockpiling” guns? Seems like his hardware was pretty normal until the past year.
The hotel footage is ‘gone’
Casinos have so many cameras that they can tell when someone palms a chip.
IOW, this was not a one-man job.
Tannerite, not ammonium nitrate as earlier reported.
