As virtually everyone has noted from the abundant video footage of the incident, it certainly sounds as if the shooter used either fully-automatic weapons or semi-automatic weapons modified (through, for example, a bump fire stock) to closely simulate automatic fire. Moreover, the police are reporting that he had more than 10 rifles. He apparently rented his corner room for days and may have even set up cameras to detect when police were approaching. Thats all strange enough, but its even more unusual when you consider that his own family apparently didnt know that he maintained a stockpile of guns.
[snip]
Put all this together, and the shooting is flat-out bizarre. Its significantly different from virtually any other mass shooting in U.S. history. If the weapons were fully automatic, then he likely would have spent immense sums of money to obtain them legally, jumping through extensive legal hoops.
[snip]
So, a person whos not a gun guy has either expended untold thousands of dollars to legally purchase fully-automatic weapons, somehow found them on the black market, or purchased and substantially modified multiple semi-automatic weapons and did so with enough competence to create a sustained rate of fire. This same person also spent substantial sums purchasing just the right hotel room to maximize casualties.
[snip]
Given the firepower and the packed mass of people, its easy to see how the casualty count was so high, even firing from an extreme range (by the standards of mass shootings.) This was the University of Texas tower attack on steroids, conducted out of nowhere, with meticulous planning and at great expense, from a person who doesnt seem to fit any normal profile of a mass shooter. There is much we have yet to learn, but for now, this is one of the most chilling and mysterious events Ive ever seen.

“Explosives” defined by the feds and/or journalists are anything from the H-bomb to Drain-o under the bathroom sink. I’ve yet to hear exactly what they were or weren’t. But, hey, it makes for great headlines.
Dina Titus, (D) House of Representative for Las Vegas, said yesterday in an interview that he was winning at the tables. And said housekeeping had been in and out of his room and reported nothing out of the ordinary.
A hardcore gambler wouldn’t interrupt a winning streak.
While I don’t believe for a minute he was ISIS, it would be great for Trump (and the whole country) if he were.
“Once the building had been swept for booby traps, heavily armed officers discovered 19 firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition and several pounds of the powder explosive tannerite.
In his car they also found a quantity of ammonium nitrate, a fertiliser that can be used to create a powerful explosive.
From your link - “Paddock had 34 guns including 23 packed into the hotel room.”
So, it’s more than tripled the number first reported. And another 50 at his home. Why bring 34 for one person? Heck, might as well bring the other 50 along as well. Why leave 23 packed? Maybe they’ll find a few dozen more in his unlocked car like they did with Lanza. Oh, yeah, there apparently is no mention of a train, plane or automobile. Ok, so I read one, just one, report saying he flew in. Flew in with all that??? Maybe he was beamed down by aliens or walked that 80 miles from home with all that in his Batman backpack.

No gambling issues eliminates that motive, but doesn’t eliminate all motives.
Housekeeping isn’t going to care about a pile of luggage. It’s Vegas, people travel, people have reasons, it’s a big room, he’s there for days.
He was there for a purpose, on a schedule. Not gonna break that schedule, not using ~$20,000 of equipment, just because he’s having a decent run.
Time will tell...
We have to go all the way to England to find this out. OK, his car was at the house so we still don't have any definite answer to how he got to LV. We don't know how much "explosive" fertilizer was in his car. Were there a dozen 50 lb. bags or a smidgen of dust that leaked out of a Miracle Gro box the gf used on her house plants two years prior?
2014. As was Los Angeles, D.C., Miami, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Chicago, etc. Throw a dart at a map and there’s an ISIS target.
Im trying to consider everything that makes sense. Is it likely that this drunk guy who was an avid gambler, real estate speculator and who knows what else is also a premier marksman and has no problem with coming up with military equipment, guns armaments that the average guy couldn’t get in a million years?
Nothing adds up so its time to think out of the box,IMHO.
Maybe its likely that this guy is who he says he is. Who knows who did the shooting, how it was all put together, or who is behind it all. Educated guesses are all we have now.
I know what mine is.
Thanks,Im keeping an open mind. Not really sure where this all goes but I have my suspicions.
thanks.
So far I haven’t heard anyone saying where this guy might have trained or practiced with the guns.
She know what happened and why and it’s convenient she is in Tokyo .
In todays world of winner take all politics nothing would surprise me.....
Keep the articles insights coming. Always appreciated....
I guess ideally you’d want to tilt your body at an angle pointed right in the direction of the shooter to minimize the surface area of your body exposed to the line of fire.
An AK has also been mentioned.
