As virtually everyone has noted from the abundant video footage of the incident, it certainly sounds as if the shooter used either fully-automatic weapons or semi-automatic weapons modified (through, for example, a bump fire stock) to closely simulate automatic fire. Moreover, the police are reporting that he had “more than 10 rifles.” He apparently rented his corner room for days and may have even set up cameras to detect when police were approaching. That’s all strange enough, but it’s even more unusual when you consider that his own family apparently didn’t know that he maintained a stockpile of guns.

Put all this together, and the shooting is flat-out bizarre. It’s significantly different from virtually any other mass shooting in U.S. history. If the weapons were fully automatic, then he likely would have spent immense sums of money to obtain them legally, jumping through extensive legal hoops.

So, a person who’s “not a gun guy” has either expended untold thousands of dollars to legally purchase fully-automatic weapons, somehow found them on the black market, or purchased and substantially modified multiple semi-automatic weapons — and did so with enough competence to create a sustained rate of fire. This same person also spent substantial sums purchasing just the right hotel room to maximize casualties.

Given the firepower and the packed mass of people, it’s easy to see how the casualty count was so high, even firing from an extreme range (by the standards of mass shootings.) This was the University of Texas tower attack on steroids, conducted out of nowhere, with meticulous planning and at great expense, from a person who doesn’t seem to fit any normal profile of a mass shooter. There is much we have yet to learn, but for now, this is one of the most chilling and mysterious events I’ve ever seen.

Look, your signup date makes me realize you are no spring chicken, like me. You said you knew “several” families that had children that died at SH. That would mean at least 3. The odds of you knowing the families of 3 dead children in a town of over 80k, and multiple schools just does not add up. Seriously, There where 20 dead children out of 400 and you were friends with 3 of them? I don’t believe you.
It crossed my mind that it is too convenient that he was already dead when police stormed his room. It’s then an assumption he was solely responsible.

I heard an interesting portion of an interview with the shooter’s brother that may indicate a political affiliation. IIRC He said his brother would carry a cigar with him and if smoke from someone in a restaurant/bar went by him he would light the cigar and blow smoke at them. His brother said the shooter considered it a micro aggression and he didn’t even smoke cigars. Micro-aggression is a term of the left. The video was played on CNN or MSNBC this morning.
I don’t know, that guy who rammed his car into the Antifa protestors has pretty much vanished down the memory hole.

The evidence is being collected; but according to what I read the initial collection points to a single person.
The woman of interest is no longer in the news. One of the earlier reports said she was interviewed by police and released. Then I heard on radio news yesterday one time, that she flew to Japan and law enforcement here wants to talk to her. I would think she knows something more about this guy, and if she was detained letting her go so quickly would not / should not have happened. The media has not discussed her since.

SH had the worst crisis actors. Really, really bad. Forget all the other stuff that is so obvious, all you have to do is show the medical examiner and parents. It is laughable that anyone would believe this crap.

You’ve just learned your brother is dead. You’re trying to digest the news he is a monster & reconcile that with the person you grew up with.
All while being surrounded by a crowd of cameras & microphones.
I’m guessing it’s a bizarre feeling & people may likely behave strangely under that circumstance.

It’s like I said earlier: If this guy was a Republican or supported Trump in any way we would definately know about it by now. The fact we are hearing nothing about his political views tells you he didn’t lean towards the right in any way.
