Don't let media distort the NFL conflict: The American People are speaking!
American Thinker ^ | 09/25/2017 | Russ Vaughn

Posted on 09/25/2017 8:40:48 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

There's no question that President Trump tossed a live grenade into the NFL's locker room during his Alabama speech the other night that has set off countless secondary explosions throughout the league and across the media spectrum.

Too many in the left-wing media want to play down the fact that this entire mess began with one player, Colin Kaepernick, radicalized by his lefty girlfriend, demonstrating his support for the Black Lives Matter campaign against America's police forces.  Now, I can understand how young men in their physical prime could find this a sympathetic view, as many of them too frequently find themselves in direct conflict with America's police due to alcohol- and testosterone-fueled incidents of physical violence, often involving their wives or girlfriends.  However, the more important consideration is that BLM's campaign against cops is not one that finds wide favor among the citizenry at large, the folks who support the NFL with their fandom.

And that, folks, is the issue here.  The owners and the NFL commissioner chose to permit these demonstrations against America's police to continue despite of the fact that they further alienate a large segment of a fan base already disaffected by the injection of leftist political views into media coverage of their game broadcasts.  If you think I'm exaggerating on alienation, just Google up some images of the recent SF 49ers-LA Rams game and look at all those empty seats.  This may be the worst case of no-shows to date, but it's a growing occurrence at other stadiums, and television viewership is down as well.  The American people are speaking, telling those defiant football players that America supports law enforcement, not black criminality, and the NFL owners and management ignore them to their ultimate peril.

Rush Limbaugh just kicked off his show by announcing that he didn't watch any NFL games yesterday ... for the first time in 45 years.

You nailed it. Yesterday I consciously did not watch football. We didn’t subscribe to Redzone, a channel we love. It’s over. We’ve had enough.

These NFL multimillionaire players who are kneelers, sitters, and no shows for the National Anthem are COWARDS - and spitting in the face of America, our military, our veterans, and those wounded and killed in the line of duty to give these morons the FREEDOMS they have today. Our Freedom is NOT FREE. Almost none of these crybaby rich brats ever served our country in the military (the exception is a guy like Villanueva on the Steelers - the only MAN on that team).

Go play football in some third world craphole like those I fought in as a US Army Combat Infantryman.

Excellent post.

Viewership was down again last night.

The league and the owners are the respnsible parties who own this problem.

They are the ones to fix it.

Hit them in the pocketbook. Don’t watch, don’t attend games, speak out against their special tax deals, about their stadiums paid for by citizens but theirs for not a penny. Speak out against their tax breaks, their being called a “not-for-profit” organization.

Be nice if we could all agree on one sponsor and boycott just that one so that the impact could be seen.

Because islam is all they will tolerate. Christians are persona non grata to the left. Thus Tim Tebow had to be demonized, and CRAPPER PRAISED.

The specific rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the NFL League Rulebook. It states:
“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.

“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition...

The poor ratings were enhanced by viewers curious to see the NFL train wreck.

Very likely future ratings will tank.

“Remove ALL Tax support money from the NFL, NOW & Forever!!!”

And quit building them stadiums at taxpayer expense to play in, that are never quite to their liking.
I had lunch with my son yesterday. He told me that he and his family went to another kind of event in the new 49er’s stadium in Santa Clara. He is of the opinion that it’s architecturally “section eight housing” with a big patch of lawn in the middle. I am surprised the 49er’s will dane to play there because it’s built on the property where FMC Corp used to build the M113 and Bradley Fighting Vehicles.

How many in the NFL are Muslims? They certainly don’t want to stand for our flag or our anthem. This is their excuse to avoid it.

>>it all makes sense now where it’s coming from.

Who armed ISIS for fun and prophet?

The NFL’s self-destructive, brain-injured, culture is just a reflection of the social (dis)order manufactured by the good-ol-boy Deep State L.I.F.E.R. ownership at Bread-and-Circuses-R-Us.

ARE THEY NOT ENTERTAINED?
