This race was Moore’s to lose from day one, anyone who’s even got the most basic understanding of Alabama politics could have told you this.
Low end Moore wind by 5-8 points, more realistically by 10+... Trumps involvement for Strange might keep this toward the lower end, but no way in hell Strange was EVER winning this one.
If I had to guess, I’d bet that Trump made a deal with McConnell — “I will back Strange. I will push hard for him. Throughout the campaign. I will give it my best effort. And you will owe me for that. And if Strange loses, and if Moore makes it to the Senate, you will bow before me and run the Senate as I wish. Because the people want what I’m selling— even when I don’t sell it.”
