A political group with close ties to President Donald Trump is amplifying his attack on professional athletes who kneel during the national anthem as a form of protest.
Turn off the NFL, reads a digital ad produced by the nonprofit America First Policies, which planned to begin spreading the message on social media Sunday afternoon.
The ad includes a photo with Trump, hand over his heart, and a #TakeAStandNotAKnee hashtag. It follows Trumps recent remarks, first delivered during a Friday night speech in Alabama, aimed at football players who have protested police brutality and other causes.
While campaigning for Luther Strange, who is locked in a tough Republican primary to keep the Alabama Senate seat he was appointed to earlier this year, Trump asked those in the audience if they would "love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'get that son of a bitch off the field right now.'" He added that such players should be fired.
Trump continued the attack over the weekend on Twitter.
If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL, or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem, Trump posted in a series of tweets. "If not, YOU'RE FIRED. Find something else to do!
NFL team owners and players reacted strongly and disapprovingly to Trumps push.

Mixing politics and sports is WORSE THAN mixing piss and CHIVAS REGAL 12.
All nfl players not kneeling. Why should they be punished?
Just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. The right of free speech is guaranteed in the constitooshin, and therefore, everyone also has a right to an audience, and to unreserved praise, no matter, and especially if, it offends people. Those that take a knee have a constitooshinal right to an NEA grant, and nobody’s allowed to say nothing against them, especially POTUS, who is violating their constitooshinal right by saying that they suck. Anyone else who says a knee-taker sucks is now also ipso fatso violating his constitooshinal right, and should be fired from their normal peasant job for their affrontery towards his lardship knee-taker sixfigs the football star, and the POTUS should be impeached because violating the constitooshin is a felony. Long live free speech for football players. Sit down and watch the game, or you too will be violating the constitooshin and guilty of a felony.

"Taking a knee" is protesting that African-Americans weren't permitted to do battle against the Nazis or Imperial Japan during WWII. /s
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said in his [disappointing] remarks supporting the kneeling protest, “there is no greater unifier in this country than sports, and unfortunately, nothing more divisive than politics.” I guess he failed to see the stark irony that this is all about the players introducing politics into sport!
So let them take a knee, Robert. While you are at it, better rename your team, discontinue using Revolutionary War costumed props, heck, why fly the flag at your stadium at all? Keep it up until there are No Fans Left.
BTW, boycott Gillette
Seems like Trump’s allies are America lovers and respecters who refuse to be bullied by the bullies who hate the Nation and claim perpetual victim-hood....
Cancel all military flyovers until the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. get their acts together.
Damit, now my monitor has gone all blurry.
Brown Deer,
I read from uncle lonny’s post #69 ‘rule’ quote, and combat_boot’s post #70 link to Liz Crokin’s tweet of the ‘rules’, down to your #121, and found out that there wasn’t such a rule in the NFL rulebook.
Question is, where did Liz Crokin find it?
The locker rooms bomb explosion killed 3 an injured 37. Since the dead jocks were no longer American, nobody cared
Not to worry, this will show up in the ratings/ticket/merchandise sales.
Folks arrived at the stadium, paid good money...they stayed. A hefty percentage of them will not return and or begin the boycott.
For starters...if folks are not yet at the point of all out boycott...turn off the game for the first ten minutes. Do not allow the networks to create the firestorm. It WILL show up in the ratings.
For the wife and I...we will not watch the media scan the sidelines during the anthem. We are soooo close to just shutting it off completely. We are Cowboyz fanz...and so far, Jones/Cowboyz coaching staff indicates...you WILL STAND during the national anthem or you will be sitting the bench.
>>Watch soccer,Last 3 World Cup champions,Germany, Spain and Italy.<<
Good grief! Not that desperate. I’d rather drawl a warm bath, pour a glass of wine, light a candle with some soothing music.....then slit my wrists. lol

Picture: picture Trump on right, service members, veterans, etc. On left is Obama not respecting the flag, the NFL owners and their employee players, people stomping on and burning the flag.
Bottom Text: You Choose.
To your point...there were teams who stood for the anthem. Maybe those are the ones we strongly support. I’m a proud Cowboys fan.
When parasite liberal feminazis attacked the PGA Tour and specifically The Masters, the leadership at Augusta National said screw you and televised the event without commercials. The left had attacked sponsors.
Conservatives never use Alynski tactics, but in this case we should go after NFL advertisers and sponsors.
I am an Hyundai customer, and they heard from me yesterday about their NFL advertising.
“To your point...there were teams who stood for the anthem. Maybe those are the ones we strongly support. Im a proud Cowboys fan.”
Really, the teams that acted up; it was like telling football fans, “Hate my team”.
From moving teams away from their beloved fans, as in San Diego, Houston, St. Louis, Cleveland, this is all jerking the fans around.
I found it on Reddit. Looks like it was fake.
