President Trump has flirted with many culture wars before. This weekend, he may have set off a full-fledged one with lasting implications. On Friday night, Trump said NFL players who kneel during the national anthem should be fired. Then Saturday, he disinvited the Golden State Warriors, the NBA champions, from a White House visit because superstar Stephen Curry suggested that the team should skip it in protest of Trump.
All of this comes shortly after the White House suggested that ESPN host Jemele Hill should be fired for calling Trump a “white supremacist.” All three events pit Trump against black sports figures whose political statements he believes are out of bounds or unpatriotic. And the entire situation seems to be reaching a tipping point.

Haven't watched, listened to, or attended an NFL or NBA game in at least 20 years. The last movies I attended were Star Wars and Harry Potter with my kids. Nothing since then.
I told my BIL, an avid fan of pro, college, and high school sports that I care nothing about who wins or loses and what any of the pro players say or do. He was a bit stunned, but maybe he understands a bit more in the past few weeks.

• 4,166 black males are killed each year in criminal homicides (murders & man slaughters)

• 2,369 black males are killed each year in the U.S. in motor vehicle accidents*

Nope.
Trump is reflecting what most of us THINK about the haughty millionaires playing for billionaires in the taxpayer subsidized, anti-trust protected football league.
The NFL should have stopped the cop-hatred, flag-hatred and nation-hatred when it raised its ugly head. But it didn’t.
Now, it’ll pay a price.
Trump is reflecting...and it really isn’t a full scale war, Aaron. All this is is deciding to turn away from bigotry, racism, and cronyism within the NFL.
Kind of like the Washington comPost losing money—it is a sure thing.
Here is a strategic difference between Obama and Trump:
Obama creates enemies of straw and imagines defeating them with comically self-centered rhetoric.
Trump creates enemies of men and evokes within them an impassioned drive to defeat themselves.
It does not take a multi-dimension chess master to predict that poking an already-annoying slimy pig would make it squeal fingernails on the chalkboards of America's true patriots.
They rather it had played out like it did with the unopposed Red Guard actions in Stalin's Soviet Union and Mao's China.
The NY Times' history reveals they played the same role of supplying "Fake News" to cover-up for Stalin and for Castro: See the false reporting of the Reporters Walter Duranty in 1930s Russia & Herbert Matthews in the late 1950s Cuba.
Good post and telling the truth is basically a criminal offense.

That’s exactly what this is. THey’ve had control of education, the media, and pop culture so long they actually think everyone is a left-leaning Hollywood-loving queer who thinks like they do.
So is the politically dark side of the NFL.
Trump knows decent people hate the Kapernick Crusades.
He knows the NFL is already tanking since they began.
He knows more kneeling will cause NFL to tank more.
He knows his tweet will cause more kneeling.
Just like the enemy media paid for most of his publicity during the campaign, now the enemy league is self-promoting a fan boycott he endorsed. And Trump will then claim credit for winning when the NFL predictably loses more viewers as they were already on a projection to suffer.
