Trump administration officials on Sunday reiterated the United States readiness to exercise military options if North Korea keeps up its provocative behavior, speaking after the rogue nation fired another missile over Japan and as world leaders convene for the United Nations General Assembly.
But they stressed that they are still seeking to bring the regime of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to the negotiating table.
We all know that basically if North Korea keeps on with this reckless behavior, if the United States has to defend itself or defend its allies in any way, North Korea will be destroyed, said Nikki Haley, U.S. ambassador to the UN. And we all know that. And none of us want that. None of us want war.
Speaking of Defense Secretary James Mattis, Haley added in her remarks on CNNs State of the Union: I am perfectly happy taking this over to General Mattis because he has plenty of military options.
If our diplomatic efforts fail though, our military option will be the only one left, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told CBS News Face the Nation.
Late last week, North Korea launched another ballistic missile over Japans airspace.
President Donald Trump on Sunday morning assigned Kim a nickname in response.
I spoke with President Moon of South Korea last night. Asked him how Rocket Man is doing. Long gas lines forming in North Korea. Too bad! he tweeted.
Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-in discussed North Koreas nuclear aspirations, agreeing that Pyongyang continues to defy the international community, according to the White House.
Trump and Moon will meet during the General Assembly, a stage of international diplomacy from which Trump is scheduled to deliver a major address on Tuesday. It will be his first appearance before that body....

Not this time! Trump’s only real opposition is going to be multi-national corporations who don’t want their business with China negatively impacted.
The problem is not Kim’s ongoing actions. If he stops those actions he still has and is further developing nukes which he will use one way or another to “unify” Korea and punish his perceived enemies. Kim and his present arms have to be neutralized very soon whether he starts being a nice guy or keeps raging.
People who think the North Korean KPA will go through the ROK Army like a knife through butter have never spent any time with the South Koreans. I lived and worked with them for two years and heard their Vietnam war stories, so I know better. The ROKA is one of the best in the world, on par with our Marine Corps or elite Army divisions. ISIS should be glad we’re not using them in the Middle East.
Axis of Evil
Iraq - taken care of in 2000s.
Iran - ongoing with the war against their proxy - Syria and Hezbollah. Being taken care of in 2010s.
North Korea - upcoming. Will be taken care of in 2020s?
And then there are the ‘Boomers’.
They are the ‘poster children’ of the
F*** with the bull, get the horns.
And Congress. Look for the Senate to deny ratification of a treaty just out of spite.
Well boys, I guess this is it. Nuclear combat toe to toe with the Norks.
Whaddya say fellas. Let’s check our bug out bags.
In them you’ll find: one forty-five caliber automatic; two boxes of ammunition; four days’ concentrated emergency rations; one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills; one miniature combination NORK phrase book and Bible; one hundred dollars in gook bills; one hundred dollars in gold; nine packs of chewing gum; one issue of prophylactics; three lipsticks; three pair of nylon stockings.
Shoot, a fella’ could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.
Obliteration of the illegal Pyongyang regime's nuclear arsenal and its dictator and his entire bloodline will be sufficient.
Outstanding!!! Thank you for all the work that went into that.
If Kim isn't careful Korea may be unifed in his lifetime... or just after his passing.
Boy, this is a work of art!
And Pyongyang knows its all talk--that's the frustrating thing.
I told my wife the other day that some morning we’re going to wake up to “Trump destroys North Korea” headlines and that it’s more probable than repeal and replace. I am as acquainted as you can be with our nuclear weapons programs as anyone who didn’t work directly with them. I had every security clearance that a soldier can have.
Rods from God. Just saying. Time to unveil the latest secret weapon.
