LOOK: Stadium is half-empty for Colts-Rams regular season opener in Los Angeles
CBS Sports ^ | Sept 13, 2017 | John Breech

If NFL fans in Los Angeles are excited about the Rams this year, they have a funny way of showing it. The L.A. Coliseum looked nearly empty for the team's home opener against the Colts on Sunday, and let's just say that everyone watching at home seemed to notice.

When the game kicked off, former Colts punter Pat McAfee was one of the first people to point out how empty the stadium looked.

Not even the lure of a $6 ticket was enough to get Rams fans to the game. That's right, all you needed was six dollars to attend Sunday's game, and even that wasn't enough to get fans through the doors...

I have lived in a lot of places and I can tell you that most NFL fans are a$$holes. Not so much with the Saints. You can go New Orleans and walk down the street with your opposing team jersey on and you won't be hassled. You might get a bit of ribbing but not threatened.

Try doing that in Pittsburgh, Chicago, Seattle, D.C etc.

Yet Green Bay can attract close to 80,000 every game and the city of Green Bay has just over 100,000. LA has 39 times the population plus the metro area.

>>LA lost two football teams for a very good reason. Now the NFL sees what a mistake it was to go back there.<<

Well, you and others seem to believe it has more to do with location than the behavior (applauded & condoned) of the SJW players. Just change the locations, fix replay, get better refs, lower the prices, less commercials, more competitiveness.

Those problems have been endured in the past; not anti-police; anti-American insolence. That we won’t tolerate.

Seattle’s pretty cool. But if you tried that in Philadelphia, there’d be a chalk outline of you on the sidewalk within minutes.

you said that a half empty stadium with a capacity of 100,000 resembled an 8th grade football game in alabama. do 8th grade football teams attract 50,000 fans in alabama?

it’s a simple question, and it has a yes or no answer.

If you gave free tickets to the gangs of L.A., the place would be filled, and wallets emptied.

My neighbor’s kids live in Seattle. He and his kids are still Saint’s fans. He went to a game there between the sea hawks and Saints and he caught a lot of crap from the locals. Sea Hawks fans are a$$holes.

try to follow. there’s a galaxy sized difference between the green bay packers and an 8th grade football team from alabama.

Pretty much, that's a big part of why the NFL is turning off many Americans.

The NFL has also forgotten basic marketing. Their games are the entertainment vehicle that gets the fans excited and promotes the sale of all their merchandise. When they went to restricting access to games by putting them on cable and worse, NFL Network (where very few can watch the games), I knew it was a huge marketing blunder.

The out-of-touch NFL management, the out-of-control political correctness, restricting access to games, terrible refereeing, are just a few things that are ruining the NFL.

I used to go to Raiders games there. Not the safest place in the world. I remember several years ago that a couple got murdered walking back to where their car was parked.
