The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday that will provide $1.2 trillion to fund the government past Sept. 30, and will allocate $1.6 billion towards President Donald Trumps border wall.
The legislation gives $658.1 billion to the Department of Defense, $44.3 billion for the Department of Homeland Security and allocates the rest of the money towards other federal agencies. The bill lops all 12 annual spending bills into two one piece of legislation.
If Congress failed to act by the Sept. 30 deadline, portions of the government would be forced to shut down and all non-essential government employees will forgo payment until they reached an agreement. The bill now makes its way to the Senate for approval.

It’s in Bitch McTurtle’s hands. Is he going to continue being an obstructionist piece of dung?
Waste of time.
Trump already promised Piglosi and Schummer he wouldn’t build one if he could give amnesty to DACA.

You may be right. The Congressional Two-Step;
One step forward,
Three steps back,
Turn around twice, then repeat in a the opposite direction.
This should be vetoed by the President! 1.2 trillion!? Really!? We don’t have this money! Get conservative and reign in the budget!!
A good first step ... How 'bout it, Bitch McTurtle? It's called "border security"; it's one of your party's promises.
Prove that.
McCain will give it the thumbs down for the kill.
I am actually surprised. It puts the Senate on record - fund the wall or shut down the government, right?
The wall will cost about $12 billion. $1.6 billion is a small percentage of that.
A little new to FReeperisms, eh?
Not trillion, billion.
For context, $1.6 billion is 0.13% of $1.2 trillion.
Now we get to see if it's for real.

McCain will fight it...but, and I'm not trying to be mean here, if the Republicans keep sending it back...will Mccain still be around to fight it next year? Doesn't he have aggressive brain cancer? (NOT wishing him ill...just being realistic.)
The Art of The Deal.
The Cook political Report says that Heller in Nv. is no ‘pushover’ for the rats. He probably won’t go for the wall so we might have to wait for Ward and Moore step in in 19’. Then someone else will back stab his own party. If Heller is the best we can do I hate to say it but... Remember Angle? Is Sandoval really a Republican? Trump lost big in November and Californians will again be recruited to knock on doors. Our hope can only be in the possibility go a shutdown.
Come on, we’ll all say some prayers and have a little faith :)
Not saying you’re wrong in your assumption but let’s see what happens first.
The only reason we are in the position of Trump working with the Deomcrats on DACA and the Wall is because the Republicans have refused to do their jobs and have refused to live up to the campaign promises that got them elected.
The GOP are the true obstructionists here. Whether the deal is good or bad, Trump is only doing deals with the Dems because the RINOs won’t do anything.
