House Agrees To $1.6 Billion For Border Wall

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday that will provide $1.2 trillion to fund the government past Sept. 30, and will allocate $1.6 billion towards President Donald Trump’s border wall.

The legislation gives $658.1 billion to the Department of Defense, $44.3 billion for the Department of Homeland Security and allocates the rest of the money towards other federal agencies. The bill lops all 12 annual spending bills into two one piece of legislation.

If Congress failed to act by the Sept. 30 deadline, portions of the government would be forced to shut down and all non-essential government employees will forgo payment until they reached an agreement. The bill now makes its way to the Senate for approval.

Exactly!

Some of these folks are so mistakenly certain Trump has jumped the shark, they have.

Their credibility is shot here.

Wow, there are some real creeps on FR...

True, but that's always been the case. Social misfits find their way here, and most are eventually escorted to the door. Real troublemakers never last.

The tricky part is that even just Trump himself, in tweets and video recorded statements, said various things about it last week alone.

It is clear he wants DACA put into legalization and that the bills in Congress now significantly weaken even Obama’s DACA rules so as to allow permanent amnesty for many more than the original executive action.

Is “the wall” being “done separately” and “coming later”, as he has suggested? Or is the backlash of the base going to at least get us something back for an amnesty that should never be enacted at all?

They say they will announce their terms in about a week, presumably hoping in part that the pressure dies down by then. I say, keep the pressure up! Tweets, WH calls, whatever you have to give him the message.

Yeah....

The aholery never ends.

And I have to watch myself, too so I don’t go over the edge...

I hope things are going well for you and yours, and the health is improving.

After 50 things get ... “interesting”. I take it as lessons. Sometimes I kick and scream a bit, though.

Deception for a democratically elected president in constitutional republic is a bad idea. At some point, lying to your constituents could be considered an impeachable offense.

Thanks for asking. Family and business are doing great, but my health challenges have unfortunately increased. I'm now fighting cancer and cataracts. Whoopee doo.

Lying to constituents?

You think President Trump is lying to us?

You are a strange one.

Someone or someones are churning out massive disinformation and others are stupid enough to swallow it and pass it on, and some are nefarious enough to pass it on knowing it’s fake.

Trump is like a puppet being moved around others (Ivanka, Kushner, globalists, establishment RINOS, evil subordinates, etc), is being incarcerated by subordinates and for some reason can’t do anything about it, is being prevented from knowing anything, and/or is being drugged.

No one but a psychotic could believe any of that.

Another pile of crap is that Trump never meant anything and really wants open border, DACA-ites populating the country, never will put a wall, and so on and so forth.

Or he’s not meaning any of it since Hitlery isn’t doing hard time in Leavenworth yet and every single illegal hasn’t been frog marched to the border at the point of bayonets.

I think some people just smoke way too much dope, too. That’s one way to destroy the ability to think rationally.

I’m sorry to hear that, Windflier. I remember you mentioned some kind of cataract treatment you were planning or doing, does it seem as though it will help?

Sorry about the cancer. I hope it is treatable without undue hardship and all that stuff. Prayers for you.

Can’t argue with anything you said there.

To you and I and a lot of other folks, it’s just plain obvious.

Thanks for link, read it.

This phrase:

He supports making an agreement on DACA,

Means precisely what it says. An "agreement". Does NOT say agree about WHAT, could be agreeing on ending it, continuing it, or merely allowing the ones already qualified to continue.

I do not like this part very much:

MS. SANDERS: The President supports the DACA program and supporting making a deal on that. But again, that has to include that massive border security.

Then, Sanders explains more, shedding light on exactly what kind of "support" President Trump may have for this program:

MS. SANDERS: The whole definition says “deferred,” so I think that takes away the idea of the permanent piece. The idea of DACA, literally the definition of it, is “deferred action,” meaning it’s not a permanent process.

So this could mean one of two or several things.

1. Trump might like to allow the current DACA-ites who have not done the long list of things to get them deported to continue to stay under the program. Which is, note the emphasis, "deferred deportation".

2. Might possibly be okay with the program continuing, under certain conditions, and of course the big IF: IF Congress votes for it.

My personal POV is that Trump is referring to the current DACA-ites who are in good standing (not meaning the long list who have done stuff on the list that will get them the boot). Since DACA is now rescinded, no more can sign up for it, and any that are here and have not signed up for it, are not eligible to get the deferred deportation.

Liz posted the list of what gets DACA-ites out, pinging her for etiquette, will find list and post it here.

No, I don’t—but I took that be what you meant by alluding to the Art of War. Perhaps you can explain why deception isn’t what you were implying.

Of course Trump is using Sun Tzu. Ever read The Art of War? He has to deceive the enemy.

That’s why those of us (the majority) who are not the enemy, need to use our freaking wits and not swallow propaganda.
