President Donald Trumps economic adviser Gary Cohn appears keen on working with the world about climate change, setting up a meeting next week at the United Nations to discuss the issue. The breakfast will include climate and energy ministers from around the world, according to a New York Times report. The Times cited an invitation describing the event as an opportunity for key ministers with responsibility for these issues to engage in an informal exchange of views and discuss how we can move forward most productively.
Cohn was notably an advocate for the Trump administration staying in the Paris Climate Agreement, describing the president in May as evolving on the issue.
His views are evolving, which is exactly what they should be, Cohn told reporters during a press briefing in Sicily at the G7 summit.
Despite Cohns advice, Trump announced his decision to withdraw from the Paris agreement.
I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris, Trump said during a speech at the White House explaining his decision

Bam-Bam told us that 0bamacare would be good for us.
He lied.
"Man-made Climate Change" is a fraud. No "deal" made on a fraud is going to be good for Americans. I'm sick of being lied to by politicians.
Here’s a thought on how to move forward - How about only actual science is considered and no politically charged, financial targeting scientism?
“But the MAGA agenda otherwise is dead.”
Are you angry or happy that you’ve come to believe this?
IMO, the MAGA agenda is still underway. Since we know no plan survives contact with the enemy & President Trump has most certainly engaged the enemy & the enemy him it’s not a surprise the dominoes haven’t fallen in the manner we would have preferred. This doesn’t mean they aren’t still in play.
Those who’ve bitched & moaned about President Trump since the day he was elected will continue to do so even if President Trump keeps 100% of his campaign promises. It won’t be fast enough or he won’t use exactly the right words or he capitulated to “jvanka” etc...
I’m looking forward to President Trump’s re-election & all the egg the naysayers in FR are going to have to wipe off their arrogant mugs :)
“Trumps... handlers”
Trump won the election by fighting the whole world and all of a sudden he has handlers?
Like I said, FR must be full of depressed people who assume the worst.
Is there something false in my post? Is there some important truth overlooked in it? Enlighten me.
You haven’t noticed?
Kelly this week forced Trump’s personal bodyguard and body man of the last several decades out by requiring Keith Shiller provide a written report on what was discussed in every conversation he has with Trump—and he threatened to quit if Shiller didn’t go along with it. Instead, Shiller quit.
Trump has indeed gone along with the noose being tightened around him by Kelly. But you don’t think a 70yo longtime playboy who brought his real estate empire back from the brink and has an extended family involved in international business has some dirt that could be used against him—whether real or manufactured?
FWIW two people he still occasionally talks to outside the admin have confirmed from multiple separate sources that he has taken to being drowsy and slurred in his speech by the early evenings, when just months ago he was up late and lucid, calling friends and informal advisers late into the evenings and then again in the early morning.

Proof?
You have a choice. You can have a positive attitude or a negative one. Trump has given us the most hope since Reagan, maybe more so.
I look at the headlines here on FR compared to The Donald on Reddit and it’s like night and day.
“...provide a written report on what was discussed in every conversation he has with Trump...”
Doesn’t really make sense because he could write down anything he wanted to.
FWIW, Alex Jones reported on the slurred speech deal
“I look at the headlines here on FR compared to The Donald on Reddit and its like night and day.”
I agree.
There is a small group here on FR that haven’t had a single good thing to say about President Trump since he was President-elect. They are as bad as CNN, IMO.
I’m sure Goldman Sachs will make off like the bandits they are if a carbon tax and carbon offset trades are ever imposed. Cohn is just the latest designated flunkie to try to get it going.
So did Roger Stone.
And all they need is some sort of bugged evidence that didn’t match his report and he could be off to jail for the rest of his healthy life.
Yeah, I forget exactly, Cohn had a nickname while still at Goldman that was something like Gary Carbon.
Clearly he is using the leverage of a perceived need to keep him through
The tax deal in order to deliver an Oscar Meyer truckload of bacon to his old employer. GS didn’t accelerate his retirement package of something like $39M for nothing.

“bugged evidence that didnt match his report”
Illogical. If bug was in place, they would not need the report. Or could not expose a bogus report without exposing the bug.
When your roof is leaking, a positive attitude won’t do S%$#.
Nope—wrong again.
Could well be demanding the reports to chase Shiller out of the WH. (That worked btw.) Or to intimidate conversation. Or because they aren’t always in range of the bugs. Or whatever else. And could justify exposing the bug to ship Shiller away.
However, most likely just meant to chase him out of the WH—and, again, that worked.
“And could justify exposing the bug to ship Shiller away.”
I think you need to drop the bug angle. Bugging the president? Extremely illegal and could get the ones who did it at least ten years in prison, just for starters.
They’ve been “bugging” him for years.
As it is, Kelly tries to be in on all his phone calls.
