But the September 8 letter from the Attorney General Jeff Sessions Justice Department said it would not even reopen the investigation because officials require proof beyond a reasonable doubt that a government employee intentionally discriminated against an applicant for a tax-exempt status based on viewpoint.

1) DOJ already concluded there was no criminality (admittedly Obama’s DOJ, but still).
2) This was a response to Congress for a new investigation.
3) If Trump was going to burn capital & energy to get someone, it probably would be Lynch, not Lerner.
The only way to drain the swamp and ensure equal justice is the 2 for 1 special;.
The one I won’t make excuses for is Jeff Sessions. He is a miserable failure. He should have told Trump ahead of time about his recusal issue. He was dishonest and he followed that act with one of weakness and cowardice. If we had a single conservative in congress, they’d have been calling for Sessions’ firing months ago. He’s an embarrassment and a disasster.
In light of Sessions betrayal and abject failure, Trump has performed outstandingly. He needs no one to make excuses for him; he’s the one person in DC opposing the swamp. (I hope Cruz supporters have finally seen the light. What a faker that guy is. Hopefully his aspirations for higher office are dead and buried. He’d be worse than Sessions.)
Once again Sessions reports to Trump. So if Sessions is the problem then why hasn’t Trump removed him? Because Trump approved of what Sessions is doing.

Because that would leave Rosenrat in charge of the DOJ. The Senates made it clear that they won’t approve a replacement to Sessions and they also refuse to go on recess for a recess appointment.
LOL!!! You do realize he can fire them both!!!! So you are with HER Now!!! Take that crappy spin to MSNBC where it will be appreciated LOL!!!!!!!!

Are you a troll? You sure seem trollish.
ROFLMBO!!! I see you are a Liberal because when a Liberal is confronted with Facts the only response is name calling.
The establishment taking care of the establishment... our elitist overlords have different laws than us surfs....
I asked a question. All 4 of your recent replies to me seem quite trollish. No content, just insults. Are you capable of having an adult conversation?
There has GOT to be more to the story then this..!! This Person was well liked and respected by most folks on the right... Now we get this nothing burger...
I keep hoping there is this big secret plan or trap that their going to spring any minute now.....
I’m goin to say it again
Think Eisenhauer, think SHAEF and the planning for the Normandy invasion. It took two years before any actual fighting could begin.
The current criminal problems to be investigated by the DOJ are too numerous to conceive. There are so many people at so many levels and thus so many counts of so many crimes, the excel spreadsheet must be humongous in both rows and columns. Then given the sheer numbers of cells, all the people and crimes overlap in countless ways.
Before going to court, it must all be sorted out.
You must not wound the Queen...... You must kill the Queen
Good luck. Especially when pres appoints only 2,000 of fed workforce.
Better approach is just don’t staff.
‘If the president wanted an investigation, there is no way Sessions could turn him down and there are discreet ways of sending that message.’
You are the armchair political quarterback who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Lawrence Tribe, Professor of Constitutional Law, Harvard Law School:
“Under the laws and Justice Department regulations governing federal prosecution, a President Trump would not have legal authority to direct the Attorney General to appoint a special prosecutor to ‘look into’ Hillary Clinton’s email situation or the Clinton Foundation or anything else. That’s not within a President’s power.”

Judge Michael Mukasey (former U.S. Attorney General, 2007-2009, under George W. Bush; U.S. District Judge, 1987-2006, appointed by Ronald Reagan; partner, Debevoise & Plimpton)
Asked in a telephone interview whether Trump could order that a special prosecutor be appointed, “No, that’s not within his powers. I think he said, ‘I would direct my attorney general’ to exercise the power to appoint a special counsel. “The AG’s proper answer would then be, ‘I’ll think about it.’ Or ‘I’ll review the facts,’” Mukasey said. [His point is that the attorney general must exercise independent discretionnot merely carry out the President’s whims.]

‘Because that would leave Rosenrat in charge of the DOJ. The Senates made it clear that they wont approve a replacement to Sessions and they also refuse to go on recess for a recess appointment.’
This is correct. Plus Trump’s entire term would be engulfed in scandal because the MSM would screech all day every day that we were now living in Watergate 2. There would be no other news story until the 2020 election.
CB may not be a troll but he/she has no grasp of political reality. Trump has no allies. The swamp is on the Left and right/Uniparty. The press has never hated anyone half as much—and this includes Nixon, Reagan and Palin. Trump can prevail, but not by thinking on the seventh grade level. Thankfully, he’s more sophisticated than his detractors.
I understand perfectly... Thanks for that..
Nonetheless, Trump has already threatened Sessions’s job. If he made it clear that he wanted this investigation reopened, do you really think that Sessions would say no?
Obama's "Justice" Department would have said there wasn't enough evidence if she admitted it. They made ALL decisions based on the political whims of Hussein.
First you need to backtrack. You were all over the place saying Trump could just order Sessions to investigate whomever at his, Trump’s, whim. When you admit you were wrong, I’ll reply to your latest.
