Speaking of the Wall, how can Trump get funding for the Wall without a government shutdown?

What about the Wall? Where is the funding for that?

Aren’t we supposed to get funding for that with a govt shutdown this month?

He wouldn't get it for at least two years under the McConnell plan. At least Trump gets another whack at it for Christmas.

He had to get aid to Houston. Without them those idiots Ryan and McConnell would have screwed the people of Texas and him to promote their vendetta against Trump.

Don’t be an apologist for the President when he does something disgusting, such as heaping praise on human sewage such as Pelosi and Chuck U. Shumer. Ryan and McConnell, sleazes though both are, would not have blocked aid to Texas. Trump’s remarks and re-tweets from Pelosi about illegals having no reason to worry were reprehensible.
Trump is telling his base, “Bend over. You’re going to like it.”

Trump needs to proceed with the agenda the American People elected him to implement.

His own party leadership - directed by Ryan and McConnell and individuals no longer in office, i.e. Boehner, the Bushes, Romney, etc - are doping everything possible to block those objectives.

THEY would prefer a Democrat in the White House to Trump. They made that very clear on numerous occasions with their actions.

The only way for Trump to get his agenda implemented - in this case Tax Reform - as Congress has very few working days left - AND help Americans in Texas - was to make the deal he had to make with Pelosi and Schumer.

NOBODY is praising Pelosi OR Schumer. If you want to blame ANYONE, blame Rinos in Congress like Ryan and McConnell.

With respect to DACA, its illegal. He said he would do something about it when he ran for office. He gave Congress a 6 months deadline to pass legislation addressing this issue. While he said current DACA people here are safe for 6 months, he DID say, through Sessions, that no NEW DACA people would be registered.

Unless you are a Never Trumper or a Troll, you should back off, support the ONLY person in Washington trying to solve our problems, and direct your bile at the REAL culprits - Ryan, McConnell and their acolytes.

Trump DID praise the two fiends, and then tweeted what Nazi Pelosi told him to tweet. I agree that the deep state hates him, but this tomfoolery and other events, such as his own and McMaster’s purge of Trump loyalists, lead me to suspect that Trump is JOINING the swamp. Sorry, I cannot excuse this absurd skulduggery with these two monsters.

I want Trump to succeed every bit as much as any member here, but if core principles are cast to the wind, this is impossible.

Trump DID praise the two fiends,

Empty Rhetoric designed to embarrass his enemies in the GOP Leadership.

” and then tweeted what Nazi Pelosi told him to tweet”

So SHE says.

I don’t believe Trump is “joining the swamop”. They hate him.

What you call “skullduggery” is necessary political maneuvering, given the obstruction of the GOP Leadership.

The GOP Leadership does NOT want Trump to succeed. Their FAILURE to change the filibuster rule when Trump needed it most indicates where they stand.

Where do I disagree with you here? All I said was that these two GOP rats would not have opposed hurricane aid. There is no evidence to suggest that Trump needed to consort with these two vicious Democrats to print more money w/o any thought to our children’s debt.

So, there is now a Democrat and Republican way to raise the debt ceiling, but it is always goes way up. I recall Strom Thurmond saying how much he hated raising the ceiling in 1981!

Mitch McC said in 1984 that he was a “John Sherman Cooper Republican,” which is what he was and is. Conservatives were hoodwinked by him for decades.

>> We already have Gorsuch. <<

Oh goody, we have a judge who says abortion and gay marriage is super duper settled law and happily joined an ultra-leftist "social justice" church with a womyn "priestness" as their "pastor" despite the fact there's a more conservative church of the same denomination a few blocks away from him.

Man, I can just picture Antonin Scalia doing the exact same thing, can't you?

A government shutdown would WORK. What ‘whack’?

It would be a decisive victory. Trump has the USA on his side on this.

I used "whack" somewhat whimsically, as I was pressed for time. I meant that Trump would get another chance to bring Ryan and McConnell on board, something that would have been unlikely if they successfully pushed the debt limit out for another 18 months.

Scalia is one of a kind, no doubt about it. Very tough, if not impossible, to find someone exactly like him.

But while your concerns about Gorsuch are valid, I have not seen any evidence that those issues have resulted in liberal rulings.

I personally don’t care what Gorsuch told congress during his confirmation hearings because I think a lot of that is very political and simply posturing to get votes. In addition, I don’t care where he spends his free time or what church he goes to or why.

What matters to me are his rulings and Gorsuch has a great history of sound reasoning and conservative rulings. More importantly, his recent rulings as SC justice are outstanding.
