The sale of the New York Daily News for a dollar isn't the death of the sleazy leftist tabloid. It died a while back. Today, the Daily News is best known for its trolling front pages. That and bizarre trolling hate pieces from a staff of repurposed and unqualified trash like Linda Stasi, a former Post movie critic turned hate spewing bigot, and sportswriter Mike Lupica, trying to churn out political commentary.
Stasi summoned a boycott of the already failing paper when she blamed one of the victims of the Muslim terror attack in San Bernardino because he was a Republican.
Lupica has no idea when the Constitution was written.
The Daily News had once been a powerhouse. But as the end approached, it lacked any actual talent. And Linda Stasi and Mike Lupica's rage tantrums, the trolling covers, couldn't compensate.

It’s amazing how consistently leftists fail at everything they do yet they NEVER learn from their failures. Heck, they really never even acknowledge them. They just fail-on.
“Linda Stasi”
And here all this time I thought her name was Linda Gestapo.
"... And during the same time, we turned an honest, hard-working newspaper into a deranged, would-be tabloid!"

Thanks for reminding me.....
That paper was written for illiterate morons who can’t read words of three syllables.
I like that! Wise comment.
Quite an embarassment for Mortimer -- but he deserved it. He should be thankful he no longer has $30 million in liabilities over his head.
Thanks, and I agree with your follow-up comments.
I’ll never forget what Stasi wrote about that victim. Never! She exposed herself as trashy beyond belief. She’s on with Mark Simone once a week and to hear her nasal, whining voice sends me running for the off button.
From what I saw of it, the Daily News’s editorial stance in recent years was meant to appeal the NYC third world population. They went hard for political correctness and multiculturalism. Pro-amnesty, pro-BLM type stuff.
When will he finish the same job on the NYT?
Gasoline Alley, Smokey Stover.
Do you remember Harriet Van Horne when the Post was lib? My parents always changed their newspaper when the News/Post changed their editorial pages. LOL! I’m old enough to remember the wonderful Journal American. Now we don’t even have the Village Voice which was a great paper for culture.
So does that mean that the New York Daily News is no longer in print? I hope so. Every morning when I climb out of Grand Central, I have to look at the headlines of it at that little newstand run by that old guy who has been there for years. Those who commute to New York City and exit on the Lexington Avenue side will know exactly who I’m talking about!
Now that's a businessman I would like to stay away from.
Yeah I agree with you and Spengler. I stopped reading newspapers (I used to buy 3 every day) so lon ago that I’ve forgotten exactly when. But I’ve noticed that they still seem to show up in the hands of charecters in TV and movies. Maybe Directors think they’re a good prop. To my eye though it’s a bit like someone coming out in spats.
He did see the real estate crash coming years in advance.
People who should have known better didn't.
And he got tronc to assume all the paper's debts, so that's something.
The media had fun with the story.
At first they thought the price was $1 million.
Then they realized the whole newspaper was being sold for the price of one copy of the newspaper.
Plus taking on all the debt.
Depends on if it’s a ‘business’.
A lot of media is just an undeclared political contribution to Democrats. Hypothetically, Zuckerman spent $1.5 million per year promoting his agenda, and that may have been a bargain in terms of publicity.
Actually, he may have spent twice that much, as I think the new owner acquired $30 million in debt.
Who bought it. I stopped reading it after 9/11. Went to the NY Post. SMH...
TRNC bought the NYDN. TRNC also owns the LA Times and Chicago Tribune. TRNC is the publicity arm of the DNC.
