North Korea openly threatens EMP attack for the first time, changing the game
BY ANTHONY FUREY, POSTMEDIA NETWORK
The news Sunday morning that North Korea had launched what appeared to be its sixth nuclear test and most powerful one to date is troubling enough.
But a statement from the rogue regime took things to a whole new level. The North said it had tested an H-bomb that was a multi-functional thermonuclear nuke with great destructive power which can be detonated at high altitudes for super-powerful EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack according to strategic goals.
This is the first time it has publicly mentioned its interest and ability in an EMP attack, a devastating weapon that could have catastrophic consequences for North America, the West and their closer neighbours.
An EMP attack, as I detail in my new book Pulse Attack, is a nuclear detonation that occurs in the atmosphere and creates a waveform that can take down the electrical grid below.
In the worst case scenario, this wouldnt just shut off the power for minutes or hours, but weeks or even months, due to serious damage to transformer stations and other integral elements of our power infrastructure.
This wouldnt just mean we couldnt turn on our laptops and televisions; it would shut down our telecommunications, transportation, water systems, our ability to get food to cities and much more.

No, you must wait for him to fire, then try to fire your gun within microseconds in just the precise way that your bullet hits his bullet before it strikes you and kills you. However, should he successfully shoot you, and you survive in some maimed state, you might then be permitted to shoot back, but you MUST above all else make sure that the caliber of your gun is not larger than his, otherwise your defensive response would be "disproportionate", which is deemed the worst thing imagineable in the modern concept of self-defense.
Seriously, it was endless talk, talk, talk that got us into this sorry position, yet now we are actually lectured by some of the same people who advocated for the past endless talking, and told that we now have no viable military option because too many people in the two Koreas would be killed. That's nice. So essentially the purpose of diplomacy was to delay the plainly necessary action long enough that action was no longer feasible.
I reject all of that nonsense, along with the equally pathetic hand-wringing over what China or Russia would do if we launch a military response. Those are just more excuses for endless paralysis, which is exactly what Russia and China are using North Korea for. NK acts as their proxy to threaten and possibly attack us, all the while using the threat of a larger war to keep us from defending ourselves.
If we allow ourselves to be cowed by this travesty, we will never be able to find the will to defend our national security again. It's time to smash that pathetic little idiot, and send an unforgettable message to the other communists as well. Then there's the matter of Iran....
Well, it has to be close enough to ground to raise particles to irradiate and spread.
Castle Bravo test results is my basis.
We will hit with the same EMP they threaten us with. The difference is, ours will be so much more effective. The motors that run their military transportation will be toast. Their electronic eyes and communications will be cooked. They will be lucky to set off a firecracker. The Pig will be hitting the red button over and over and nothing will happen. He will be sitting there down in his secret pit and we will hit him with a deep thrust of the MOAB knife into his heart.
as long as he can launch I don’t trust it. You can’t control a maniac you have to kill him China may be logical. he is not.
I'd like to shove it up their Manchuria via NK.
Of course I understand the joke...I just don’t find it funny given the present circumstances.
Tomorrow we are deferring our ability to act to the security council where Russia and China have veto power.
Have you noticed this little DS always Threatens us on our Holidays. No it is time to take him out on his holiday. Maybe his fathers anniversary of his death or his Birthday etc..
So I’ve heard.....
George S. Patton
‘How about that dumb sh*t Congressman Fred Upton R- Mich.,whose committee should have addressed this 5 years ago and hardened Americas electric infrastructure.’
We got new light bulbs out of the deal.(sarc) This whole thread is putting the fear in me.
Exactly. It's time for the communist puppet masters to face the heat for their little game. Arm South Korea and Japan with nukes, and make it clear that their missiles and ours are aimed not at North Korea, but at China, and will be launched at them if Kim Jong Idiot harms so much as one American, Japanese, or South Korean citizen.
This world is a powder keg waiting to happen on all of us! For those who are younger than 40 years ago.. even 30 years ago... we didn’t have the muslims breathing down every country’s throats, and/or isis killing anyone who they didn’t like... and we didn’t have the NKorea’s nut guy in charge of atomic weapons. We had Krushchev who banged his shoes at the UN and who said we’d bury ourselves from within... and we had WWII, that was fought on other country’s shores.. not ours. We had TV with 15 minute news at 6 in the evening.. we didn’t have computers that lit up with the touch of a button, and we didn’t have a phone to watch and check like it was life and death.. we had to look for a pay phone when out and about... we had cars and refrigerators.. ha... but we didn’t have the horrible things we have today... riots were not and feelings didn’t get hurt with words... most of us had respect for one another.. and most didn’t expect the government to take care of us from cradle to the grave.
I am sorry that our grandkids will not have what we had... (we may all not have anything, to be honest)... but we are in a world that is far different than the one I started out in and raised my kids in... it’s a sad and angry planet these days!! And downright scary if one wants to be afraid.
Aren’t you supposed to turn and run away?
[That seems to be the policy, thus far. Let’s wait for China to do something.....*wink wink nod.*]
I think it is foolish to wait until NK can credibly threaten Seattle, SF, and LA. “We are going to invade South Korea and you won’t do anything because we will destroy your cities.” Imagine the US leaving South Korea to its fate and evacuating a few thousand at the last moment. Imagine NK getting control of SK scientists and industries. We should not send ground troops to NK though.
A missile that could send it up to detonate high above the country would be what could create a devastating EMP.
