Let the liberal shake down begin... first the easy targets
Has anyone even noticed that there is just as large a storm system twirling off US East Coast ?
Putting oneself in the spotlight has a way of, well, making oneself visible.
Maybe the Osteens might want to pre-plan disaster policy in future. Funny how God can use nature to say “Surprise! How does all your wealth look now?” If the Osteens only were willing to give true glory to the Lord for His gifts, He would forgive the Osteens.
People were crucifying Joel Osteen on Facebook. With great glee.
No matter what he did, the media wants to cry wolf.
If he closed the doors, he was denying protection to flood victims.
If he left them open, he was endangering the lives of his ‘flock’.
Very similar to the way the media is attacking Trump.
It’s, supposedly, the House of God.
Many New Jersey beaches have been closed this week due to the high surf and strong rip currents from that storm, but we’re just getting some heavy clouds and intermittent rain from it today.
“Its, supposedly, the House of God”
Which the FEMA designation of a emergency shelter has not been granted. Therefore it is against the law to open the doors for disaster relief. I have a church fairly close to where I live that has been designated an emergency shelter and it contains many attributes such as industrial kitchens, adequate areas for mattresses, showers, large Laboratories, and many other things associated with an actual emergency relief shelter. If that church of Osteen’s is a large mall for instance, it does not qualify as an emergency shelter.
But it’s moving.
Maybe because they had cleanup work to do inside?
Emergency shelters require lots and lots of logistical expertise.
Churches are not designed for it.
It is best done by states and municipalities.
Their building was flooded.
Not that their building being flooded matters in any way to those eager to rush in in judgement.
I saw that on the radar and have heard that FL is also having flooding problems.
The Bhagwan Rajneesh err, I mean Pastor Joel Osteen deserves all the flowers and kisses showered on his Rolls Royce.
Oh well, one is as Christian as the other...
If only haters wouldn't hate. If only people wouldn't bear false witness. If only...
I'm assuming it's Satan who gets us to do all sorts of things we shouldn't do.
But we do, and in front of God and everybody, too.
(Fwiw, Christianity is hard and Proverbs 6:16-19 was written for you and me, my fellow sinner.)
People are brave when they are anonymous. And Osteen is an easy target.
They’ll pound him because he isn’t housing storm victims while the storm is still raging, and then as soon as things clear up and he starts helping, they’ll claim he is only doing it because they forced his hand.
Whether you like Osteen or not, the day you or I become a visible target we’ll get to enjoy the same kind of grief from people with nothing better to do.
There building was not flooding. According to Breitbart Texas, there were photos floating on social media that gave the appearance of flooding, but the building is dry.
Osteen responded to the criticism by saying he will be opening the building to use as a resupply station for Houston.
Breitbart Texas also wrote that to be fair, Osteen had opened the church in the past to house 5000 refugees from a previous natural disaster, I think they reported it was either Katrina or Rita.
When your pastor could house a dozen flood victims in his $10.5 million mansion and never even know they are there, you're at the wrong church.
