Russia and the United States have both sold arms to just about every Latin American country. Except for Cuba which is solely in the Russian camp. We've even sold arms to Venezuela not very long ago. They're all whores and we have no moral superiority over the Russians in selling to them.

Are you trying to say that Venezuela is no more an alley of Russia than they are to us?

I said we've sold arms to Venezuela recently. It sort of refutes your contention that Russia is really, really bad 'cuz they sell arms to our Latin American enemies while we are still the good guys for selling arms to our Latin American allies.

The fact of the matter is, very few countries in Latin America like us and I can't think of any other than Costa Rica and Columbia that would consider themselves our ally. The rest are just Latin American banana republics and we are not morally superior to Russia when we sell arms to them and Russia is not evil for doing the same thing. I understand that you really, really don't like Russia - I think it's clouding your vision as to who our enemies are. Hint: Venezuela is not our enemy, they are just in economic and political turmoil and if we leave them alone to work things out among themselves they may come back to some form of decent governance. If you label them as our enemy then that label will stick in their minds for a generation or more - much to our detriment.
