North Korea said on Wednesday it had conducted a test of an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) to counter U.S. and South Korean military drills and as a first step in military action in the Pacific to "contain" the U.S. territory of Guam.
The North's leader Kim Jong Un ordered the missile drill to be conducted for the first time from its capital, Pyongyang, and said it was necessary to undertake more exercises with the Pacific as the target, the North's KCNA news agency said.
"The current ballistic rocket launching drill like a real war is the first step of the military operation of the KPA in the Pacific and a meaningful prelude to containing Guam," KCNA quoted Kim as saying. The Korean People's Army or KPA is the North's military.
Earlier this month, North Korea threatened to fire four missiles into the sea near Guam, home to a major military presence, after U.S. President Donald Trump said the North would face "fire and fury" if it threatened the United States.
Tuesday's test was of the same Hwasong-12 missile Kim had threatened to use on Guam, but the test flight took it another direction, over northern Japan's Hokkaido and into the North Pacific Ocean.
Trump, who has vowed not to let North Korea develop nuclear missiles that can hit the mainland United States, said the world had received North Korea's latest message "loud and clear".
"Threatening and destabilising actions only increase the North Korean regime's isolation in the region and among all nations of the world. All options are on the table," Trump said in a statement on Tuesday.....

You gotta admit Guam is closer to the Norks thereby making it an easier target. Strategic? Sure, our forward military bases are there but it’s just a small speck in the ocean. It is still the U.S. Looks like there’s no turning back. Do we wait for a military action on their part or has it already been happening over the past decades?
Kiss your ass goodbye, Phat Boi.
If the missile went over northern Japan, but was meant for Guam, the guidance system must be waaaay off.
Funny Saddam Husssein had what? The 8th strongest military? Or was it the 11th? Took 41 just 96 hours. Fat boy doesn’t even have electricity.
MOAB’s should be dropped in government building areas where the people will see first hand how brainwashed they are.
Enough talk, already!
He really wants to tip over Guam.
We won’t have to fire a shot. With winter coming, Kim will be quickly running out of resources. His antiquated equipment will be inoperative and his population will be starving to death. That starving population will head north into China. China knows this. So does Mattis. This is China’s problem.

Despite efforts by the United Nations to impose isolating sanctions on North Korea in response to the countrys continued development of nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles, trade between Russia and North Korea soared more than 85 percent in the first four months of the year.

Phat Boi would make a pretty good meal for quite a few folks, with a good sauce.
Russia is likely calling the shots in regards to what NK is doing.
Alrighty then.
L
Some reports I’ve read place the latest shot at around 1700 miles down range. Well, Guam is about 2100 miles from typical launch sites on the NE coast of NK... That was probably a pretty realistic test of payload weight on a fairly long range trajectory. He’s showing he’s serious. Well, that’s going to get him in trouble.
IF we do have the ability to knock out ICBM’s, then why are we allowing any ballistic launch from NK?
Kim has called our bluff at least 3 times. We are just sitting here like deer in the head lights. Time to teach him the lesson we “promised”. Fire and Fury “ or just quit and submit.
Testing .
