Got a spare bathtub?
In Katy Tx, so far, so good.
I will update as the storm proceeds.
Mears, I’m in central Houston sorta near the medical district. We are riding the storm out at home along with a few neighbors.
I have a 6 yr old, 14 month old, and my wife is 7 months pregnant, all girls, so I worry.
The area all around my neighborhood floods, and the nearby bayou tops its banks in heavy rains.
Where was that photo taken?
Terrible. Hope it weakens by the time it hits the shore.

Harvey forecast to slam Texas coast as major hurricane with devastating flood potential
Good luck——and lucky you——all those daughters to adore you. :-)
Stay safe.

NHC forecast track now takes a hard right turn into Galveston Bay for Tuesday arrival as a Tropical Storm.
It wasn’t the biggest storm but really intense.
50 miles south of the storm you were OK.
Weather Nation is a joke as they don’t have a live feed at the moment on PC. I wasn’t planning to test the app. That’s why I have been using websites and Weather Channel and video from locals in Corpus to follow.
Good one caww.
Careful with using the word “devastating.” I used “potentially catastrophic,” and was beaten forty lashes with wet noodles by folks who live in KS and KY. Go figure.
Great job caww showing these pictures.
Are you located in this area?
I guess I will do a triage and sacrifice all the inexpensive minnows and goldfish so I can have room for the koi. I have no idea: what will a hurricane do to my pond? My back yard is heavily treed so figure a ton of debris; maybe clogging up the filter and pump.
I fully expect my power line to be contacted in the next few days. The trees have grown like crazy in the last few years and I never cut them back. Mostly trash trees that I left in place for the shade.
Isn’t it safer to leave NOW with those children and wife?
Prayers for your safety!!
I’ll tell ya I wouldn’t want to be the one trying to predict intensity, forward speed, or just how close to the coast it will stay, about as tough as it gets.Too many variables.
Thanks for all the substantive information. I have lots of friends and family down there and am concerned about their safety.
No matter what the jokesters say, it IS serious for those who have to evacuate and who could lose lives and property!
You definitely have some prep chores to keep you busy through the night. Hang in there!
Good Lord. I wouldn't think that Koi pond has a very bright future. Button up and stay safe!
A Texas friend on FB said her brother took the picture. I can’t verify it, though.
