New photos show the renovation of the White House is almost complete after two weeks
The Oval Office has new wallpaper and the Roosevelt Room and West Wing lobby new carpeting
The South Portico steps have also been renovated for the first time in more than 60 years
And much work was done to replace the White House's HVAC system, which was installed 27 years ago
Because it has run constantly since then, it had had the equivalent of 81 years of regular usage
There were also IT upgrades and general paint jobs - the latter of which continued Tuesday
Trump reportedly called the White House 'a real dump' to golfers at his New Jersey course this summer
However, he has strongly denied those claims after they emerged in the press
Donald Trump reportedly called the White House 'a real dump' this summer - that's a claim he later denied, but either way he'd be hard pressed to make such a remark now that a two-week-long renovation has wrapped up.
As seen in these photos, the exterior of the building, along with the Oval Office, Roosevelt Room and other areas of the West Wing have been given an overhaul.
But the real work went on beneath the building's floors and in its walls, as the ailing HVAC system was replaced, the heating system upgraded and IT infrastructure given a boost.
Despite the considerable work performed on the building, however, it's now a shining white as ever - and ready for the president to get back behind the Resolute Desk.

I was in DC two years ago and I thought the White House looked really dingy. Not only was it depressing to know who was in there, it also looked like no one was taking care of the lawn. A sure sign of a bad neighbor.
I am going again next month. I can't wait.
Should’ve washed to whole place floor to ceiling with muriatic acid just make sure they killed any and all remaining infestation
Yep. When the dining room was being redone, Dr. President Trump said there was ‘gold’ behind the walls. Whatever that meant...
IT overhaul??? Uh oh
Hopefully they were able to get rid of the smell and the stains from the chicken grease on the furniture...
Yes, the rat infestation was particularly bad from Jan. 1993 to Jan. 2001 and from Jan. 2009 to January of this year. Not sure they have gotten rid of it completely even yet.
Maybe they did.
Post 28 shows how the previous occupant would reacted upon seeing a mouse on his rug.
“The rat infestation has been an intermittent problem for a long time.”
At least for 8 years.
In the Photo essay:
The Chic Silver”tray” is a “Salver”.

**** Watch CNN turn into, Trump has a “Slaver” in the White House!
Disrespectful POS.
I’m surprised they didn’t have to gut the entire white house after the Kenyan usurper got through with it.
Uh oh, I think the wallpaper’s Russian. Don’t tell Shep.
The aforementioned Moscow Embassy bug was a passive microwave transponder: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thing_(listening_device)
It was an embarrassment because the US officials were unaware of the technology, which is very similar to the now-common passive RFID. While such a device could be illuminated through a window or even a faraday cage that was not fully effective we now routinely scan for such activities. Plus it’s unnecessary to go to such extremes when throughout the previous administration, every person in any given room has been carrying a phone that can be converted into a covert listening device. Now hopefully proper security measures are implemented and the Awan Brothers Phone Company has had it’s wires cut.
“Hope the swept for bugs.”
If Comey was still the FBI head and was told to “sweep for bugs”, he would have brought in bug spray.
Hoping that ‘IT’ upgrades includes cleaning out the bugs, definitely. If that were the only thing they did, it would be enough. Let’s see if the leaks continue.
Thank you. I want to smack him on the back of his head. However, I will put him in God’s hands for justice. :)
Cockroach/rat infestation -—— you know that’s code for the Obama administration......!
