Apparently, even being Asian doesnt mean people wont take you for being a white nationalist.
According to the popular college-football blog Outkick the Coverage, ESPN pulled an Asian announcer from calling a University of Virginia football game. The announcers name is Robert Lee.
Did I mention that Robert Lee is Asian? blogger Clay Travis asked rhetorically in a post that poured scorn over the popular sports network for political correctness, calling it MSESPN.
Citing multiple Outkick fans inside ESPN, Mr. Travis said Mr. Lee was pulled from the Cavaliers Sept. 2 game in Charlottesville against William and Mary because they were concerned that having an ASIAN FOOTBALL ANNOUNCER NAMED ROBERT LEE would be offensive to some viewers.
The fatal violence in Charlottesville earlier this month grew out of a white-nationalist and neo-Nazi march in favor of keeping up a statue of Robert E. Lee the Confederate General who died in 1870 and shares a name with the ESPN announcer, Mr. Travis helpfully explained.

I am dubious that this wasn’t a prank story....but if its real it ranks up there with the news lady reading the fake names of the four pilots of the crashed jet a few years ago....
From another new source:
“Lee, who still calls select Siena home games for Spectrum Sports (formerly Time Warner), initially was scheduled for the William and Mary at Virginia game but is now assigned to Youngstown State at Pittsburgh, according to the website. Both games are part of the ACC Network Extra package, whose games are shown on ESPN3.com.”
So there is really no announced reason why he switched assignments for that week. I can think of many reasons why this might happen other than his name. For example, somebody with more seniority wanted to do the Virginia game, or maybe he wanted to go to Pittsburgh that weekend. ESPN has certainly not said that this was to avoid offense in Virginia. One website jumped to that conclusion, and others are repeating it, but they cannot really know what is behind this.
No, Sum Ting Wong here
ESPN is Disney. Disney is one of the 4 major corps peddling its anti-American BS on the Country.
What’s racist about Lobelt Ree?
This is real.....we live in insane times.
ESPN is catering to the same audience who thought the word “niggardly” was hate speech.
Tucker verified the story before announcing it. Showed a picture of it.
If your name is Lynch and you’re not black, you better go change it right now.
That guy lost his job didn’t he?
Why not ban anyone named Robert? It’s no more nonsensical.
Some town, I think in Washington or Oregon, was changing everything named after the town’s founder, whose last name was Lynch. Said it might offend someone.
Robert Lee should sue the hell out of them and he can say he was pressured to accept the staff ready net as he wanted to keep his ESPN job after they laid a bunch of people off, especially those wi non-Left political beliefs
They will replace him with Suc Mi Dong.
On a very related point, Wikipedia has a whole page that catalogues incidents where someone got into trouble for using the word “niggardly.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controversies_about_the_word_%22niggardly%22?wprov=sfla1
Lol
You just can’t make this shi+ up!
