Afghanistan could be a treasury of minerals, another card to play if China decides to get passive aggressive about theirs. There was no serious attempt at organizing Afghans. With nothing to lose, they were stubbornly fatalistic.
But you have less problem with terrorists killing 3000 Americans in one attack, who were backed by Al Qaeda and trained in sanctuary of Afghanistan, am I Correct?

During the Bush 2 years many newspapers had a box on page one keeping track of the number of American military deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan. Maybe they will start again with another R in the White house. I despise the leftist media.

I doubt it. Obama pulled out too many of our troops at once and put the locals in charge. That left many of our troops to be murdered by the locals they were supposed to be working with. Obama also had rules of engagement that did not allow our soldiers to do anything except be sitting ducks. He went after terrorists the same way he secured the border, ignoring what needed to be done in order to allow the terrorists to regain strength.
He also turned a blind eye to all the heroin coming from there, now it is out of control here. Mexico was so encouraged watching that they now grow quite a lot of heroin as well.
The terrorist problem and heroin problem that have been ignored for years have to be dealt with at the source/s.
I am willing to wait and see how this goes before weighing in on it. I do have 2 close family members that served in Afghanistan (and Iraq) and they have told me we need to take out the terrorists that now have another foothold in Afghanistan. I will listen to them before most others about what is going on with our military.
Of course. Let Taliban take over full control of Afghanistan again. Who cares if they train more terrorist and execute another 911 or worse killing thousands of American civilians. Yeah, let us save the soldiers and sacrifice the worthless civilians in America.
Keep in mind, the ideology of Taliban is very much congruent with ISIS ideology.

I think he handcuffed them so they could not do anything. He was good at pretending to do things he had no intention of doing.
Check out the deaths of our military in Afghanistan under him. Many were murdered by Afghans they were supposed to be assisting. Most were not killed pursuing terrorists, they died because they were sitting ducks if an Afghan they were working with got sudden jihad syndrome.

Exactly. None of these geo-political experts have ever set foot in any country in middle-east or south Asia, but know so much more what is going on there than people who actually have FIRST HAND experience.
