Poll finds conservative with huge lead over Trump-backed Alabama candidate

Roy Moore has a nearly 20-point lead over Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala.), the candidate backed by President Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell

(R-Ky.) in Alabama's Senate special election, according to a new poll.

The survey conducted by JMC Analytics and Polling found the former chief justice of Alabama's Supreme Court with 51 percent support, compared to 32 percent for Strange.

The two will face one another in a runoff election to be the GOP nominee on Sept. 26.

(R-Ala.) fell out of the contest, taking 19 percent of the vote.

Whoever wins the GOP nomination will be the favorite in the general election to succeed Jeff Sessions, the GOP senator who gave up his seat to serve as Trump's attorney general. Strange was appointed to fill the seat until the election.

Still, Moore's win would give Democrats a ray of hope that they could contend for the seat.

And if Moore is elected, it would give McConnell a difficult new senator to contend with in Washington.

Trump's endorsement did little to help Strange, according to the JMC Analytics poll.

“And if Moore is elected, it would give McConnell a difficult new senator to contend with in Washington.”

That indeed is one of the objectives. GO ROY GO

Predictable. They will spin anything that happens as a loss for Trump, but he is endorsing the wrong guy.

We are fed up with the total betrayal of these “republican” congressmen. Do they really think we will vote for them after the way they have treated Trump which is the same thing as treating us voters like they do Trump. It’s truly disgusting.

Roy Moore has taken actions like his Ten Commandments monument at the AL Supreme Court and his refusal to go along with a federal court order to remove it, forcing the RINO’s to remove him from office.

Then his rulings on gay marriage in more recent times causing him to be removed from office by the RINO’s.

Moore was twice elected and twice removed as Chief Justice in AL.

Luther Strange only offers conservative words and speeches and legislative proposals.

That’s what makes Roy Moore the better choice in AL.

Add on that Moore is a West Point grad and served as a captain in Vietnam.

The MSM will Trump Bash but the POTUS decided wrongly to go with Mitch McConnell’s man in Alabama, Strange.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words which makes Roy Moore the winner in AL.

They will McDaniel him or at least try too. The GOPE is just as evil as their brethren in the DNCE. All are liberal trash.

That’s what concerns me the most about this race.

don’t know much about moore because he is not running in my state but the little said in this poste about him being removed from office and the reason why tells me all I need t know. we need those willing to swim against the tide of Washington lobbyist influences and the fact that he was willing to go back into politics twice after being removed tells me this guy is his own man not trumps and not the establishment but some one willing to just do what he thinks is right.

I’m smiling. I suspect Donald is smiling, too. This was a “safe” endorsement to help deal with the Republicans in Congress while having no effect on the Primary, except apparently, to bring out more Moore voters. Trump calculated this as he calculates all the “faux pas.”

Roy Moore will be elected the next Senator from Alabama in a landslide runoff election victory over Luther Strange. Moore win then easily knock off the Democrat “what’s his name”.

Mitch McConnell has endorsed Luther Strange which is the “kiss of death” political endorsement. Even the endorsement of POTUS, Trump will not do Luther strange much good. If you are a Republican RINO, Establishment “Never Trumper”...you are toast via primary defeat. Steve Bannon is setting the primary challenges as we read this. McConnell & Ryan must go...now!!!

Trump did not decide “wrongly.” It was a calculated endorsement and got him some ious from McConnell while increasing Moore’s turnout. Moore will be a Trump ally in DC and McConnell can’t “blame” Trump for the “difficult” new Senator.

Not that Roy Moore needs the help, but I’d love to see Brooks endorse him and then have Moore help Brooks get Shelby’s seat.

Trump endorsed him — twice. So he is a Trump-backed candidate.

Yes, that’s the only reason I can see to endorse swap-creature-in-training, Luther Strange.
