Can't beat Wikipedia.
George Burns lived to be 100 and he smoked 15 cigars a day.
Disorderly Orderly was a fav of mine. When young. He was an orderly that assumed the symptoms of his patients.
Lewis gave an enjoyable interview in Dec. 2015 where he praised Trump and criticized Obama.
“Comedic legend Jerry Lewis recently sat down for an interview with the Catholic EWTV outlet. The riveting interview, which aired Thursday, concluded with current events, including Obama, Trump, ISIS and even the refugee crisis. Lewis did not hold back, bashing Obama as a failed leader, smacking down the idea of importing more Syrians, and praising GOP front-runner Donald Trump for his “showmanship.”
RIP
Always liked that song.
We’ll meet Again...
Gonna find that song today.
Back then, TV was something to do at night. During the day, we'd be pretty much outdoors riding our bicycles and playing pickup ball games the whole time.
> Hey Ladyyyyyyyy! Always cracked me up. RIP Mr. Lewis. <
Yes. Last year I attended a Hillary rally. Inspired by Mr. Lewis, I yelled “Hey Ladyyyyyyyy!” every time Hillary tried to speak. Security was not amused.
I watched Silver Streak on Netflix Friday night, a slapstick movie from 1976 that I remember seeing as a teenager. Pretty much everybody that was in that movie is now dead, even Jill Clayburgh, who was extremely attractive in that movie - especially when you are a 14 year old going through puberty. Seeing it again 40 years later, the movie struck me as dopey...

Not to deflect the thread from Jerry, but I recently also tried to watch “Silver Streak” for the first time - and couldn’t make it more than a half hour into it.
As for Jerry - well, God bless him. I bet he made more people laugh than 99% of the people who ever lived, and he did worked for decades to get rid of a terrible disease. Pretty good legacy, if you ask me. I’m glad he lived as long as he did, and I’m sad he’s no longer with us.
RIP Jerry, thanks for the laughs.
A great American, a great man slipped away from this earthly life today...may God Almighty bless and keep him for all eternity. RIP....Jerry Lewis, we all loved you.
Not to deflect the thread from Jerry, but I recently also tried to watch Silver Streak for the first time...

Oops. Lost a few words there. I meant to say for the first time SINCE I WAS A TEENAGER, not for the first time!
For many years, since I was a little girl, this comedic genius brought a lot of joy and laughter into the lives of my family and I.
I would watch my introverted (though caring) daddy, laugh so hard at Jerry’s zany antics that he would have tears rolling down his cheeks.
I honestly loved watching him as much or more than Jerry himself.
There will always be a soft spot in my heart for Jerry Lewis the man for his love and concern for kids with disabilities since I myself was born with a rare, muscle wasting disease that’s in the dystrophy family.
Having said that, however, Jerry Lewis was a man too full of himself at times.
His condescending attitude in many interviews that I have seen of him are cringe-worthy.
Being Jewish, he was bullied badly while growing up, and after becoming so highly successful after such degradation may have contributed to his overcompensating (and over inflating) his self worth.
In any case, he was a national treasure in my mind and it’s very sad to see these great talents that God has given this nation leave us.
He would have died sooner.
First Dick Gregory, then Jerry Lewis. Who's next?
It was actually the other way around. Lewis was a smart, shrewd guy. Playing the fool is what made their act a hit and allowed Martin to become a popular singer.
Matt Drudge, who can’t be bothered with non-news like Wasserman-Schultz’s involvement with a pakastani spy ring funnelling sensitive Congressional data to places unknown, is right on it when a celebrity dies.
There’s a laaaaaaaaaady who’s sure that Jerry is climbing the stairway to heaven.
R.I.P. - 91 is a pretty good run, liked him in that movie called The King of Comedy where he played a Johnny Carson type character.
