I didn’t know there were so many songs about Warsaw. There are probably more songs about Warsaw than there are about Washington, DC.

Dame Vera recounts a road trip from the Copper State to the Sooner State via the Duke City, where she probably stopped for a green chile quesadilla and a sopaipilla at La Placita.

I first heard Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels in Rotterdam, Holland, over a radio station broadcasting from England. I thought it curious that an English station would be broadcasting a song by a group from Detroit.
By the way, a C. C. Rider is a country circuit rider, a Methodist minister who must travel by horse between several rural congregations that make up his "circuit"--in other words, a guy who gets around.
Here's an earlier--but not the original--version of the song.
C. C. Rider Blues--Bea Booze (1943)
