ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) The contractor that maintains EBT services for Virginia's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is experiencing multi-state service problems.
This has resulted in an EBT System outage.
It is unknown when the system will be restored.
SNAP clients can call (866) 281-2448 to check on the status of the system restoration. Clients can also call 2-1-1 to learn of food resources that might be available to supplement their needs during the temporary outage. Also, clients can call the Enterprise Customer Service Center at (855) 635-4370 with any additional questions related to their benefits.

I came up with an idea at the beginning of this. Start a rumor that EBT servers are now in Confederate monuments. See how many come down after that.
Thank God I have backup non-refrigerated food, too.
A couple of my friends asked me just about 3 nights ago, what ya gonna do with all that.
“Eat it”, oddly enough, I told them.
It just gets rotated and replaced. And most of it is built, by far, by shopping every great sale there is.
Example (doggy backup supply): $8.49 bag of dog food - $2 a bag when you buy it right with supplier coupon and sale.
I’m jealous of these coupon folks, though.
Looks like the RAT investment class in ALL the blue cities better check tbrir insurance policies. Forecast calls for burn, baby burn if this ebt system prevails.
And, just think, all of those poor, hungry families are complaining on the internet! I cannot believe one poster said they haven’t eaten in 3 days! Maybe, if you did not buy junk food or expensive processed foods, you would not have run out. Poor management on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
smh
Somebody said it was back up.
If it was down all weekend, and with the eclipse coming up.....
I’d have to be calling Nully for my Tinfoil Kaiser....
Did you see the ~20 states it blinked in?
Before I make any online purchase, I always check with sites like RetailMeNot.com, which will tell me if there are any promo codes or coupons associated with a prospective purchase. I just scored 31% off an upcoming whale watching cruise with Groupon. I also get on rewards lists for stores I frequent, so I get daily emails of what's on sale. Finally, definitely use FatWallet.com when you want to make a purchase of something more pricey than groceries and see if there are any great bargains around.
The comments (DISQUS), at your link, are....ahem, enlightening ;-)
this is the site I have been checking. Interesting map of the outages. The comments are fun and I think I recognize at least one freeper nic.

Do I correctly remember Travis writing about a situation like this?
I didn’t know about the other one, thanks. Am I gonna get spammed?
LOL!! That was fast!
Yeah, I got the list from your earlier post - that’s where I got the cities. Haven’t checked out the comments yet.
No! wow...
Haha!
Yeah I don’t pay much attention to them.
I like to go on Twitter, follow certain people to see what they are saying.
The Twitter feed, once you are following President Trump, Sean Hannity. Mark Dice, Paul Joseph Watson, etc... It gets VERY interesting.
I buy non-perishable groceries that I routinely use when they are on a good sale and store them. Consequently, I save a lot of money on food. Same as you, if I couldn’t get out for a while, I’d have plenty to eat between my freezer and my packaged goods.
Now, wait just a minute....that could appear racist to those folks who only know how to provide fast food for their families. /s
I follow those guys, too.
But, just thought I’d point out the entertaining comments at your “EBT Down map” link :-)
Yes I took a look at some of them after you mentioned it.
Agree some of the comments are certainly entertaining.
Maybe if they shopped like we do instead of buying frozen foods and chips they’d still have some food. I buy canned goods etc when they’re on sale too. We also cook. We don’t eat frozen entrees, etc. We cook.
