The man accused of ramming his car into protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday seems to have already been found guilty by the media but there may be more to the story than is being reported.
* * *
A video posted on Streamable reveals that the driver of the Challenger had slowed down and was apparently calm, until protesters hit his vehicle with a blunt object such as a baseball bat or large flag pole.

the video doesn’t show that
If true, he was confronted with deadly force and acted in self defense.
You're right. There's just that one guy swinging a stick after the car passes by. I don't even think he did any damage.
In any event, suddenly panicking and running people down is unlikely to be considered what a "reasonable" person would do under the same circumstances—which is supposed to be the standard. But it only takes one juror to hang a jury.
Do you think that's sufficient justification for accelerating forward and mowing people down?
Because I don't, and I doin't think a jury will either...
In this incident, that's not what was happening—yet. If it escalated to a scenario like that, then the criteria for the jury to consider would be whether a reasonable person could feel threatened—given the same situation—to the point where self-defense was justified, and to the extent that the actions taken constituted legitimate self-defense.
I don't think that defense will fly under these circumstances—but that's for a jury to decide...
we don’t know if he made a “wrong” turn or not and it doest’t matter. He hadn’t hit anyone yet(that we know about).
He was on that street.
His car was beat on once.(guy with the flag pole ? )
People then did surround his car.
So how long do I wait for it to escalate for self-defense to be justified ?
Old saying: “Id rather be tried by 12 then carried by 6”
I don’t see it going to trial.
I’m thinking this kid should be on suicide watch.
I wonder if the bail proceedings will bring out both sides again ? especially if he has to make an appearance ?
If he gets bail, he’ll need protection and another place to live.
What a mess.
We concentrate on this driver and it really has been an interesting thread especially if we can cut through the “did not\did too” stuff.
But what kills me is, (forget the conspiracy stuff for a moment) the right was supposedly protesting the removal of statues, the left was there because the right was there - no other reason - and that hasn’t changed since the campaign\post election regarding protests, yet c-ville is the defining moment ?
God help us all.
I agree, he was not justified.
> His car was beat on once.(guy with the flag pole ? )

His car was beat on once.(guy with the flag pole ? )
He drove into a crowd and sent numerous people flying and then rammed another car
People then did surround his car.
thank you. I agree.
What on his car identified the driver as alt-right?
Yes, but what on the car identified him as a mental case?
He was on a road. Pretty simple to me.
I think this guy was 'set off' in a road rage like manner...but it should not at all be astonishing that he was driving down a road. The unusual aspect was the crowd of people surrounding the cars on the road.
Did you hear the clip that Rush played earlier toady?
Three Republican women: 2 black, 1 white, interviewed by a CBS reporter. It was gold.
Reporter asks:"What about this confederate statue stuff?", and one of the Black women says: "I wasn't born then. This has nothing to do with me. Its part of History. Martin Luther King said 'judge by content of character, not color of skin'", etc. "I'm an individual, I still strongly support President Trump", "identity politics is killing the Democrats".
These three women—two of which were Black and support President Trump—just blew the phony Media narrative right out of the water.
I have to find the video clip of this. Supposedly it was CBS.
I can just imagine the riots, when he is found “not guilty.” They better convict him of something to prevent further loss of life.
This we will never see in the MSM. Of course those of us here probably never see the MSM anyway.

As far as I know he’s allowed to drive on roads. The crowd swarmed him and hit his car with objects and he probably feared for his life. I would run over protesters attacking my car in an extremely violent way.
No, there is no right to run people down with a car.. It’s your analogy I have a problem with. Streets are for CARS, not people. Those Antifa THUGS had no right to block a public street. The police should’ve moved to arrest anyone blocking the street. ANTIFA ARE ANARCHISTS AND THE RULE OF LAW MUST BE RESTORED IN THIS COUNTRY.
Heads up....update info on Fields hearing.
