The man accused of ramming his car into protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday seems to have already been found guilty by the media but there may be more to the story than is being reported.

A video posted on Streamable reveals that the driver of the Challenger had slowed down and was apparently calm, until protesters hit his vehicle with a blunt object such as a baseball bat or large flag pole.

By your comments I’m assuming you would have just given up your life. Let them beat you down. That guy was gonna get a beatdown by those leftists. No doubt about it.
WOW! That really puts things into perspective. It’s amazing that there’s no indication of the two cars that are almost right in front of him. The drone footage shows that the van and the white car behind are right at the stop sign and creeping through the crowd. What’s that like 20’ away for the Challenger ?!?!
This could be a case of hitting the accelerator instead of the brakes. He doesn’t immediately hit reverse either. Not until the crowd starts smashing windows does he quickly back out.
Flag man is not wearing glasses
You aren’t thinking logically. How did he know they were Antifa? When he first turned, he may have been lost, or maybe he thought there was a side street, or maybe he was just stupid. Ever been 20 years old?
“Hes not worth defending here.”
You sir are DISGUSTING.
I love that this place is willing to give the benefit of the doubt to what might be a disgusting individual so that we can come to a LAWFUL conclusion. That you have already made up your mind speaks volumes about you, SIR.
I don’t think any jury will find the driver guilty of murder 2. I’m not sure any conviction can be got. Two years from now, when this goes to trial, the states attorney will offer involuntary manslaughter with a sentence recommendation of 2 years in prison equal to time served, and with so many years probation. Then, the states attorney will drop probation if there’s any resistance to try to get an admission of guilt and prevent the trial focusing on the Democrat Governor’s order to law enforcement to stand down and allow the riot to run its course.
Ever been 20 years old in a strange city and lost?
I guess the driver didn’t know the rules: he was supposed to allow himself to be yanked out of his vehicle so they could bash in his head with a brick like the guy in the L.A. riots.
Reckless is not depraved indifference. Murder in the second degree isn’t going to stick.
Some people here may as have been the driver.
Your language is wrong. It is not a question of whether he is “entitled” to hit them. The only question is: Are you in fear for your life?
what?
when a MOD is attacking you while you are in your car you can’t accelerate to save your life?!?!?
I guess he needed to wait to be dragged out and killed like Reginald Denny??
BS! some angry mod attacks me.. I will run them ALL down!
Some people here may as well have been the driver.
I had to plow into 19 people, your honor. Someone dramatically gestured at my tail light.
What are we even doing here?
The situation is not analogous to Reginald Denny.
Reginald Denny did not drive his vehicle into a crowd and ram other vehicles.
He didn't move forward until he was attacked. I can't see how any jury would convict, unless they already view him as guilty without any evidence.
Haters have a right to peacably assemble and have an expectation of doing it safely.
Defending that for him, defends it for all
I see we have a learning disability here. My point is that his defense will be- Of course I didn’t want to hurt people, if I had wanted to hurt people I could have sped into that crowd at 90 miles an hour.
To me, the pic of him face on sure looked shadowed enough over the eyes to be glasses, and then the side pic swinging the flag looks like they're shoved up on his head.
When I enlarge the pics a bit, it doesn't help. It's probable there's nothing there, and that what I'm seeing could simply be shadows.

If you end up with a jury full of williams’ the guy doesn’t have a chance.
