Race Preview After weeks of ads, mostly on behalf of incumbent Senator Luther Strange, the votes start rolling in tonight after 8pm EDT. Strange faces strong competition from former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, who has led him in the polling average by about 5-6 points, and from Huntsville Congressman Mo Brooks, who has trailed Strange in the average by a little over the same margin. If polling is correct, Strange and Moore will advance to the September 26th runoff. We anticipate the first results will roll in within thirty minutes of polls closing. Well have comparison charts and a county-by-county display above as those numbers roll in.
Yes!
71% of precincts in:
Moore 40%
Strange 32%
Brooks just under 20%
Reportedly from Mo Brooks’ concession speech:
“Mo Brooks: The swamp and the establishment worked hard against me. Now its up to people of Alabama to decide if they want those folks or Roy Moore to represent GOP in the general election. “
BOOM!!!!
Go Judge Moore!
Wow!! NICE concession speech by Mo, if so!!
I dunno.
Today my little town had touch screens to register. I had to declare my party affiliation. I chose Republican.
Then, I was handed a paper ballot, with only Republican Senate candidates. That was it. Fill in Moore’s circle, and put my ballot in the counting machine. Took my about two minutes.
So I’m thinking they already know I chose Republican. I don’t think I’ll be allowed t0 vote in the runoff if I hadn’t selected Republican today.
Moore must win the final round.
President Trump’s endorsement of Luther Strange is inconsistent with the tough words that come out of his mouth in situations like the press conference today.
We need people who will have Donald Trump’s back in the US Senate, not people who stab him in the back like McConnell who’s fully behind Strange and Rubio who’s dumped on the POTUS today.
“So Dems who voted in their primary, which should be a large part of Dems who would interfere in a Republican runoff, can’t vote in it.”
And Dems who didn’t vote in the primary (a very large percentage) can be paid by Mitch and the Gang to vote for Strange.
This is what the Haley Barbour syndicate did in MS for Thad Corcoran. Maybe I’m just getting paranoic.
I am aware. I also think he’s our version of Ted Cruz... just better. Budget hawk, freedom caucus member, introduced the house ACA repeal bill that was killed.
If Brooks really said that he’s an outstanding patriot
But the Dems had a fairly competitive primary thanks to the Bobby Kennedy guy. So their fanatice voted.
Sadly, Roy’s margin is falling. If it gets under 7% the Empire does, indeed, have a chance to Strike Back.
Keeping him in the House and sending Moore to the Senate would suit me down to the ground.
The State site still has an 11% Margin:
Roy S. Moore (REP) 43.51% 115,958
Luther Strange (REP) 31.62% 84,272
Total counted 266,524
Let’s hope Trump at least stays neutral in the run off. Would be nice if he endorsed Moore and stuck it to Mitch and the Uniparty.
Dang! AL. has smart voters!
Not like the nights we watched America roll over for Obama, State by State.
I do love Alabama.
In MS Barbour et al pushed Dems who had voted in the primary to vote in the runoff, illegal but counted. McDaniel tried to challenge but a GOP judge shut him down.

Mo Brooks comes RIGHT UP AGAINST an endorsement of Roy Moore, but stops short. Attacks Strange even in concession. #alpolitics "
Doug Jones is the Dem who will be the opponent. He received 65% of the vote tonight so no runoff.
Strange was McConnells boy to stop Brooks. Without Strange he would have a majority.
