Thanks for posting; when the weather cools off we may have to stage a neighborhood film festival in the back yard.

Rebecca is another great. I'd watch it just to look at the beautiful faces of Joan Fontaine and Laurence Olivier.

I could not show fear, because there were 2 ladies with me and I was their male protector. I do not recall the door creaking, but the man who opened the door had a slight limp, and it was a 2 story house. And we were 3 of us, and the 2 ladies were good athletes, but believe me, I was scared.
My most frightening experience was after watching Dracula (Christopher Lee as Dracula), and I slept in the only room on 3rd floor of my house, and the windows creaked like crazy during the breezy night. I was 18 years old.

I’ve seen “Rebecca” and “Foreign Correspondent” many times. They really hold up to repeated viewing. I’ve never seen “The Gazebo”, will have to check it out.

The Gazebo was directed by George Marshall, not Hitchcock.

The Gazebo is a terrific movie but it's not a Hitchcock movie.

“Shadow of a doubt” is my and Hitchcock’s favorite. Joseph Cotton was excellent.

OMG,he limped.
All of the stereotypes of eerie places were there at that little B&B.
It’s funny you mentioned that Dracula fear at age 18. When one of my sons was about that age “The Birds” was on TV and I recommended it to him——he couldn’t finish it,said it really creeped him out.
This from a kid who loved “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”,”Nightmare on Elm Street”, and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”.

Great comic timing on Hitchcock’s part. Each time they dig up Harry and rebury him is funnier than the last.
