I simply do not understand how someone can be an Obama supporter in October of 2016, having been Occupy Wall Street sympathetic, and then suddenly becoming a Trump supporter, alt right sympathizer and rally organizer in 2017. This is bizarre and does not make sense.

Yes, there's obviously something very wrong with this picture, as the counter-protesters were very much OWS types. And there's no question he was at least both of those things (Obama supporter, OWS supporter). Still not positive on him being the CNN guy, though. At my request the mods replaced the ! at the end of my original thread title to ?.

Right now, the significant thing is that nobody came forward to say, "Hey, funny thing, I'm that Jason Kessler who contributed to CNN.com back in 2011, and I have the same name as the White nationalist guy!"

Because nobody has, it looks like today's Kessler might be the same guy from back then.

The person who might have been able to explain him best could have been Eric Hoffer, the now-forgotten "longshoreman philosopher" who wrote the book, The True Believer.
