CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a statement Saturday indicating a federal investigation has been opened into the events surrounding the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Sessions, who had already condemned the violence and “any message of hate and intolerance” as events were unfolding, delivered the following statement as the dust settled in the home of the University of Virginia:
The violence and deaths in Charlottesville strike at the heart of American law and justice. When such actions arise from racial bigotry and hatred, they betray our core values and cannot be tolerated. I have talked with FBI Director Chris Wray, FBI agents on the scene, and law enforcement officials for the state of Virginia. The FBI has been supporting state and local authorities throughout the day. U.S. Attorney Rick Mountcastle has commenced a federal investigation and will have the full support of the Department of Justice. Justice will prevail.

I don’t understand why Antifa is also not considered a racist org.
We have about 2-3% of blacks, a few more Cubans, some other hispanics and probably about 10% of Jews.
So realistically when Antifa attacks they are race based attacks. I was at two Trump rallies and each was probably 95% white. Now I am not a politician who likes to create the impression of way more diversity in our ranks. I am being more realist.
It was the Daily Beast article that was cited earlier today on FR. People with more knowledge and sophistication than you didn’t challenge one word of the article. Rather, knowing the cost of good attorneys, the analysis was accepted implicitly.
Idk how sheltered and inexperienced a person woukd have to be to think that defending against a Mueller onslaught wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. Your smarmy comments only serve to emphasize your lack of perception. Bankrupting targets is a big part of what special counsels and prosecutors do. That way, even if there are ultimately no charges, or if a jury lets them off the hook, they’ll still have been punished in full. It’s a dirty racket, and Mueller’s very good at it.
Manafort is worth 50 Million. Flynn is surfing and smiling.
It’s pure speculation that they are being bankrupted.

Doesn't sound like it, sounds like he is starting with the conclusion it all stems from racial bigotry. Talking points from the left as a beginning point do not give me any hope for a real investigation.

I just have next to no patience with deliberately stupid people. I have no idea how slow-witted a person would have to be to struggle with this issue. Being aggressively pursued by a federal prosecutor with unlimited funds is outrageously expensive to defend against...by design.
Flynn is probably on the poor house already—and I absolutely don’t care if you believe that or not. There’s no cure for willful stupid.
Manafort doesn’t have millions of dollars of disposable cash just laying around. Plus his work as a consultant is doubtless suffering. The average person who can afford Manafort is looking for someone not under such an ominous cloud. With Mueller’s reputation, no one knows who he’ll ultimately frame. Reportedly he’s trying to flip Manafort as a means of getting bigger fish. Dirty as can be.
And while all this goes on you are either too thick to figure out the swath of destruction—financial and otherwise—Mueller is wreaking, or you just don’t care.
