Former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore leads the crowded Republican primary field in the state's Senate race, according to a new poll.

Moore has 30 percent support in the JMC Analytics and Polling survey. He is followed by Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala.), with 22 percent, and Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), who had 19 percent.

Another 17 percent are undecided.

The poll found that 53 percent of respondents view Moore favorably, compared with 34 percent who have an unfavorable opinion of him.

Just 35 percent have a favorable view of Strange and half of respondents see him unfavorably.

About one-third, 31 percent, have a favorable impression of Brooks, compared with 43 percent who have an unfavorable opinion of him..........................................................

If no candidate hits 50 percent on the Aug. 15 primary, the top two candidates will move on to a runoff on Sept. 26, before the general election in December.

Talk about trippin'... Blue Dog Amish might be Roy's opponent...

Former naval officer Robert Kennedy Jr. entered the race as an unknown, although his famous last name helped spur him to top a public opinion poll in July for the Democratic primary with 49 percent support. He has no relation to the Kennedy political family. After serving nine years in the military, Kennedy earned his MBA from Duke University and worked in the casino and retail industries.

A self-described fiscally responsible Democrat, Kennedy named improving the Affordable Care Act, public education, gun ownership rights, abortion rights, and combatting voter suppression as policy priorities." - Ballotpedia

Have we been had? Think about it
McCain and Graham hate him. Yea, for us. Just what we wanted to hear. He puts in Sessions. Yea for us. Just what we wanted to hear. He says “Lock her up!”. Just what we wanted to hear.

Now the excitement is gone and Hillary us just as powerful as ever.

If Trump is removed from office, it certainly won’t be his backers’ fault.

Good grief. If either one is elected, they add to the already huge Social Security recipient group. It is pathetic that 48 Senators are over 65. I mean can we please stop with these old people. They had their shot. We need young fresh idea with people in their 40’s at the very least.

Did you ever think there’s a reason why all this info is coming out about McMaster? It’s kind of odd that it is so fast and furious...perhaps it’s a psyops set up to foment more “strife” and “chaos” and to cause doubt in Trump’s base? Like it’s doing with you?

“Old People”? They had their “shot”? Who the hell are you and who made you Queen for a day? And you think people in their 40’s, are any better? I got a retired Marine from WWII in my neighborhood that would kick our a** physically and mentally. And I’m not much out of my 40’s.

I don’t know, I’m still pretty excited...illegal immigration is down, jobs are up, stock market is up, wall is getting funded, we’re out of Paris Accord, Gorsuch is on the SCOTUS, lower federal court positions are being filled by conservatives, what the hell else do you want in 200 days? My goodness man, Rome wasn’t built in a day and we’ve had 28 years of either socialist rule or Republican light...

"One story circulating around AL is that if Moore wins the GOP primary, the Democrat will win the special election."

Some of us have been looking for said "one story", and the closest "one story" anyone can find is from the DUmpster: If Roy Moore wins the GOP primary in Alabama, does Doug Jones have a chance?

If you have a different cite, bring it...

Robert Kennedy Jr. (D) had a rally in Auburn this past week that was heavily attended and covered on TV news. Word of mouth is that he is the Dims best hope of defeating the Judge.

Moore has a dedicated cadre of support that will be shown less than a majority.

Yes, and that's exactly why Hillary is president and not Trump.

Moore does not have the electoral college working for him.

And, don’t discount the brutality of the negative ads, whether right or wrong.

They’ll go after him, Republican and Democrat alike.

And they’ll succeed. As they have in the past.

Knowing you are in the fight of your life, is not an excuse to cave.

Damn, how the hell would we have defeated the British or Germany with such an attitude

How the hell would Trump have won with that attitude?

Sorry mariner, but that attitude gave the Democrats congress in “06” and Obama in “08”.

You always put your best player on the mound, regardless of the situation.

Damn man, stop acting like a loser.

“stop acting like a loser”

I’m not acting like a loser.

I’m contributing money to Moore’s Republican opposition. I don’t think the man is fit for federal office as he puts religious dogma ahead of the constitution.

And, I’m astounded that anyone believes him fit. Especially anyone who calls themselves a conservative.

There is no best hope for the Democrats for beating any of the Republican candidates.
