However, the group and other supporters of Calexit believe such financial risk would be worth it, particularly given that Californias political leanings are so at odds with the current administration and that California sends more tax dollars to the federal government than any other state.
We feel that California has been neglected and left out of the political process for many, many decades, Gonzales told the Bee.
With current politics the way they are, clearly theres a recognition that many in the United States have disdain for Californians. They call us out of control. So this is a time for us to take back those tax dollars and really unleash the potential California has, he added.

Time for federal government to take back all that Central Valley Project water and electric power, time to take back hoover dam water and power, time to take back all that federal land used freely by Californians. Two can play this game.
No electricity or water from out of state, high tariffs on exports.
“California sends more tax dollars to the federal government than any other state.”
Yeah, the smartest cannot figure this one out, the most populous state sends in more tax money. Gee. the RUS does not listen to them, another laugh. They have by far the largest house representation in the congress and most of them from the same slime ball party. Two of the last seven presidents called Ca home. One of the 9 justices came from Ca.
One other thing, they ran off most of the military bases they could and destroyed the aircraft industry in that state so now they talk of not having their “share” of federal spending. Go suck a grape.
You are right, they can’t afford to lose these.
We feel that California has been neglected and left out of the political process for many, many decades,
And this statement is absolutely reversed from the truth. Ca has been writing the socialist political narrative for two generations now.
But using liberal logic... They will probably think they can exit, become sovereign, yet still participate in and influence our national elections too.
Per the title, I can’t argue with them.
If California succeeds it will become another Cuba Venezuela, So we why would we allow adjacent to the rest of the states a hostile influenced rouge state with already built military bases ? in addition the organizers want to succeed in part because they don’t want a border with Mexico, so in effect California and Mexico would be united., Allowing our territory, to be controlled to the Mexican cartels m socialists and Marxists, how is that good for the USA... ? People need to stop laughing at this overtly organized takeover..
Just split off San Francisco (along with Oakland and Berkeley) and the LA area into separate banana republics.
Then everyone would be fine with it.
But we want to keep all the rest of California.
Its a great place with the above exceptions.
Will never happen because the Dems cant lose CAs 55 electoral votes.
Plus, though they may gain in federal tax dollars, they would lose dollars in so many other ways it would become a net loss. Significantly so.
51 reps removed from congress.
51 reps removed from congress.
In your opinion, how much English royal debt should the United States have shouldered after it separated?
Funny they talk about California leaving the union is perfectly fine. But when it comes to Texas seceding their heads explode.
It won’t happen, ever!
You ever try to stop paying your taxes
They can have Nevada too.
It’d be easier to deport them to Hawaii
And the power from the Hoover Dam. And other power plants.
You have no idea how the desert will bloom-especially around here in Northwest AZ.
There are thousands of acres that could be put into AG production.
Getting rid of California is dandy, but first there is a tab to be settled. California must purchase all the military bases and ports, repay all federal funds used to build airports, highways, railroads, power grids, hospitals, universities, other public buildings, water projects, aquaducts, dams, etc., and pay its share of the US debt based on population. Water from the Colorado River or other out of state sources will be on a pay-cash-as-you-go basis. Looks like $10 Trillion might cover it. We’ll accept gold, silver, platinum, and high grade petroleum. Oops, California is already bankrupt.
You might want to take a look at this:
California gets a lttle less back from the FedGov than they give.
But look at those “effing southern state leeches!” Especially North Carolina which is getting nearly $8 for every dollar they contribute, North Dakota @ more than 5 to one, and Floriduh at 4.5 to 1. All told, 37 states get more than they give, and it’s interesting that California is #40 on the list and is the first state that is a net “giver.”
So eff all of you a$$holes who want to see California leave, while it isn’t going to happen, if it did, this country would be in a world of hurt. This clearly shows that The Southern States are just a bunch of layabouts who feed off of states like California. Now all of you “good folks who have homes with wheels on them and broken down cars and home appliances in your front yard can go take a flying XXX at a rolling doughnut!
Spoiled children having a temper tantrum every time they don’t get their way.
