The Boy Scouts of America is disputing President Donald Trumps claim that group leaders told him his was the greatest speech that was ever made to them.
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, the president said his speech _ which was unusually political for a Boy Scout event _ had been praised by group leaders in a transcript released by Politico.
I got a call from the head of the Boy Scouts saying it was the greatest speech that was ever made to them, and they were very thankful, Trump said, also disputing claims the crowd gave a mixed reaction to the controversial speech.

Let me get this straight:
Trump proudly tweets that he received some high praise for his speech to the Boy Scouts, so some kill-joy a-hole fake journalist wants to take that away from him by digging up someone at the Boy Scouts who didn’t like the speech, who will refute Trump’s tweet.
This is what passes for journalism?
Folks, nobody should be reading this garbage, much less re-posting it on FR. The only way this kind of fake news is going to away is if it gets ignored by those of us who know how worthless it is.
Does anyone actually believe that when he says “People call me all the time and say...” or “People tell me...” he is relating actual stories?
This is one of his go-to sales techniques. Important people love my idea; so should you.
Apparently they do.
That’s facts are simple.
President Trump’s speech was the greatest speech ever given to the Boy Scouts.
The Boy Scouts said and President Trump said it.
Just more fake news since no authoritative source was provided. It just said, “head of the boy scouts”. Who the heck is that?
The "head of the Boy Scouts" is Michael Surbaugh. And there is no doubt that he apologized for the speech and its political nature: link
I find it hard to believe that he would be calling the President and classifying it as the greatest speech ever on one day and then apologizing for it the next.
Some of their infiltrated homo leaders doing damage control...?
It’s one of his fifteen or sixteen favorite verbal ticks.
The media use it as a means of discrediting him. His most ardent supporters treat it as a gospel.
I’m going to blow everyone’s mind here. Do you know those stories preachers tell about the friend who lost his job or lost his wife or had a sick child?
You can buy those stories in a book or find them online. Preachers don’t actually know ten thousand people who experience horrible tragedies.

Same with Trump. He’s not getting calls at all hours praising whatever topic is discussing at the moment.
Agreed. Also, it sounds like your strategy is turning out a good young man.
I used to work for a Public Affairs officer in the Army. He got two or three monthly newsletters full of clever sayings and illustrative anecdotes to use in speeches.
Maybe the homosexuals didnt like it.
The Scouts depend on corporate sponsors. The same corporate sponsors who told them they had to take gays if they wanted to keep getting money. They cannot afford to be seen as Trump supporters.
