The Justice Department’s new terminology for illegal immigrants is making liberal heads spin.
Departing from Obama-era terms like “undocumented,” “unauthorized,” and “migrants,” the DOJ began referring to illegal immigrants as “illegal aliens.”
“Today Attorney General Jeff Sessions met with families who have lost loved ones because of crimes committed by illegal aliens,” read the opening line of a DOJ press release last month.
The term appeared again last week in an official statement announcing tougher rules for sanctuary cities, according to Fox News.
“So-called ‘sanctuary’ policies make all of us less safe because they intentionally undermine our laws and protect illegal aliens who have committed crimes,” Sessions said in a statement.
Naturally, this shift in word choice outraged those on the left who claim the term “illegal” is somehow a racist slur.
Chicago Tribune writer Todd Slowik complained that “word choice is important,” and can send the wrong message.

Hardly new. I first heard that term back in Houston in the 1970s regarding Australian friends who had allowed their employment visa to expire. They endured a difficult, expensive and lengthy process to finally get green cards, even though they now owned a business where they employed Americans. Not realizing the jeopardy they were in, their friends made a joke of it observing that they weren’t green, nor did they have antennae growing out of their heads.
And majority to mean 50% + 1.

Liberals understand the power of subtle changes in the language. A small change can move public opinion a lot over a period of time. It was the first weapon Political Correctness used in its war against our culture.
Hey, they should be happy it wasn’t changed to “scum bags” which would most of them to a “T”
The term ‘looters’ also elicits some interesting reactions.
Yeah, like using the term "undocumented" to hide the the fact that they are illegally in the country.
Communists have long sought to create the “new man” which requires completely wiping out all memory of the way things used to be. Think “Memory Hole” and “Doublespeak” in 1984.
This is why so many one-common and useful, classical words like “gay,” “queer” and even “liberal” have been taken over and completely corrupted.
Abolishing “illegal alien” is part of the bigger communist project.

Liberals get uncomfortable when honest labeling conflicts with their fantasies. Truth here, truth there, and before long their entire fantasy world is exposed.

Yes, words DO matter. It is well past time to start calling spades, spades - and not some phu-phu, made up, BS term intended to totally distort reality. We definitely elected the right guy as President to deal a death blow to the PC idiocy...and to drive the condescending snowflake pricks who are trying to force that crap on us nucking futs. I am really enjoying winning - I’m far from being tired of it.
No matter where or what I post or email . . . I always use the term Illegal Aliens. They are what they are. Even GWB was soft on Illegal Aliens. About dang time the DOJ and others start using the right term and hopefully will soon not bastardize the 14th amendment and NOT permit anchor babies to be American Citizens.

Their only way left to build up their bloated welfare state and maintain their edge was to get as many illegals in here as fast as possible.

Trump is tearing down the lib’s/dem’s nest... but it’s not fast enough nor thorough enough. 6 months into this term and they are still able to cause trouble.. they should be gone.
This new man... 4 star general...Kelly. I have not had time to research him.. .. what has he stood for in the past? Was he vetted? Is he going to let Trump be the head of the decisions? or is he going to try to tell Trump what he should do?
A key component of liberalism is to control language and it does serious damage combining it with fear mongering of those with no critical thinking skills: a.k.a Snow Flakes.

The terms "alien" and "illegal alien" are legal terms used throughout the United States Code.
