Do not vaccinate: A growing, national anti-vaccination movement that claims the inoculations can cause autism in children has led Brooklyn pet-owners to withhold vaccines against deadly and spreadable diseases from their critters, according to local veterinarians.

Where do you get this so called expertise?
Just like babies getting some unnecessary shots, (Hep, etc) as well as the number given at once..there are times pets may not need certain shots. In her last year’s our dog didn’t get much...she was in our yard, in the house (mostly) or on a tight leash, too...not running around.
THEY ARE all BLOODY Idiots!!!!!
It would be worth the cost just to make sure she doesn’t do this to anyone else again. And it is open and shut. She wasn’t smart enough to hide it, she figured we were not quick enough to figure it out. She documented it all on her bills. I shared these bills with a second vet and he was so upset he offered to help in court.
“It shouldn’t have come to this, There was no excuse for this, Things like this make us all look bad”.
And I have an idea it has happened before.
Be prepared to go public in tandem with filing suit, then. Can’t speak for wherever you might be located but here there is a network newscast that delights in reporting of abuses, putting them on the spot live and on camera. It’s one of the few legitimate acts of investigative journalism remaining that I’m aware, and a genuine public service.
That’s just wonderful.
If their unvaccinated pet should bite someone, even playfully, it will be put down and tested for rabies.
That is the law, everywhere.
Otherwise, if they don’t care if their pets die from something preventable, then it really isn’t a danger to other pets as long as the owners keep them in the house.
This isn’t quite like idiot parents who refuse to vaccinate their own children, who are then a danger both to any infant too young to vaccinate, and to people who have compromised immune systems.
Yes, that is an option and we are in stock country. But I have a feeling she might already be on the edge of being an uninsurable serious risk. They carry malpractice too.
Parvo can affect people too. Especially bad if pregnant or if she sickle cell anemia.
“Fine; let them all get bit by rabid dogs, cats, raccoons, rats, etc.
When they are all dieing of RABIES I dont want to hear any complaints”
No, I want to hear their lamentations. Pity for the poor animals.
While I have not seen every American vet (obviously), I have yet to see one properly administer inoculations.
Not one ever asks if the animal has been sick or had a fever in the last 30 days, whether the dog has had any other shots in the last 30 days, or holds the animal under supervision for the required time after the shot (can be several hours).
The only question ever asked is “will that be cash or charge”.
And insulin, The watered down “Vet approved” pet insulin is $50 bucks for a U-40 bottle. The U-40 syringes and pet insulin can only be purchased through a vet or online from a vet supply. But the insulin has a temp issue when being shipped so it’s not a good idea to buy it that way.
U-100 Human Novolin N (which absolutely requires U-100 syringes)is 2.5 times more concentrated and only costs $25 bucks at walmart. So for $25 bucks it replaces the need for 2.5 bottles of the pet insulin worth $125 bucks.
And yes Novolin N is completely safe for use on pets, but please look it up for yourself. You just want to start with a 20% less unit dose then adjust up to good levels. Yep it’s a scam...
Many vets will write a script that you can fill at your pharmacy.
If I needed a sensitive thing like insulin it’s what I’d go for.
2-3 weeks later... POW! Loss of Appetite, lesions, abscess, surgeries, anti-biotics, steroids... thousands of dollars! She lost 1/2 her weight & almost died if not for a friend recommending a new Vet & diagnosing it as an auto-immune response to the Vaccinations & treating her with the proper steroids & medications.
She is currently back up to the same weight, her lesions have stopped, off her medications & she is a very happy dog!
Spreading out required vaccines and even titer testing to determine if sufficient immunity remains to waive a given required vaccination is a very wise thing to do with an elderly or sickly dog. It really is. If people love their animals they need to consider this.
Thing is you don’t need a prescription for human insulin. You just walk up and buy it. Now a Vet might tell you a prescription is needed but it’s not.
They might also tell you to leave your dog with them all day once a week to monitor their glucose levels until they are right at $200 dollars a day.
Humans monitor their own sugar levels all the time by themselves without a vet to do it for them. If you have a diabetic Dog you are going to have to do this all the time anyhow. :)
I had one dog go feral after multiple vax.....
And that’s why our cats & dogs are vaccinated often to DEATH - because vets don’t care as long as they get money.
Good research. I hadn’t seen this, as I’m a cat mom. Horrifying, isn’t it? I saw something about the vaccines being grown (?) in cat kidney tissue (that’s not the only animal tissue they are grown in) and that’s the reason for the huge increase in kidney disease among cats - CRF, Chronic Renal Failure. All 3 of my girls, last 20 years, had it - even tho I cut off their vaccines in 2000.
