On the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit in Germany last month, President Trump’s advisers discussed how to respond to a new revelation that Trump’s oldest son had met with a Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign — a disclosure the advisers knew carried political and potentially legal peril.
The strategy, the advisers agreed, should be for Donald Trump Jr. to release a statement to get ahead of the story. They wanted to be truthful, so their account couldn’t be repudiated later if the full details emerged.
But within hours, at the president’s direction, the plan changed.
Flying home from Germany on July 8 aboard Air Force One, Trump personally dictated a statement in which Trump Jr. said that he and the Russian lawyer had “primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children” when they met in June 2016, according to multiple people with knowledge of the deliberations. The statement, issued to the New York Times as it prepared an article, emphasized that the subject of the meeting was “not a campaign issue at the time.”
The claims were later shown to be misleading.

The statement WAS untrue. The statement said that the meeting had nothing to do with the campaign. Later they admitted that this was not true.
I don’t know what to say about this except that if they haven’t done anything wrong they should stop changing their stories.

Those Russians he met with were hired to persuade the American political class to change their minds on the Magnitsky Act sanctions which was directly tied to Russia’s ban on American adoption of Russian children.
I see this as the Russian team covering all their bases by meeting with the Trump campaign. The bulk of their effort was focused on getting Democrats in DC to oppose the sanctions.

I think this election has shown us how much contempt the ruling elite and the MSM has for the middle class. (or has Hiltery has referred to us “ordinary people”)
I think we had a big clue for about 2 decades the MSM has gone left but WikiLeaks was sorta proof and now they have gone absolutely overboard giving us absolute proof they are part of the ruling elite.
I think we do post reliable sources that have already deconstructed the lie but we still need know what Pravda et.al. is saying.
Spent some time today talking with a guy who grew up in communist Poland. He pointed out some things about the current left in the USA and the left he grew up with. Not much difference. It was very insightful. And scary.
