As recently posted, there are now reports of Bible studies at the White House. That's interesting, in and of itself.
However, in early January, a story came out that Kellyanne Conway reportedly took Donald Trump to meet Father George Rutler, the Anglican convert priest and pastor of the Church of St. Michael in Mahattan, who blessed the future president just days before his election.
Fr. Rutler is not just some average priest. He is one of the best homilists I've ever heard in the Catholic Church, a very pious man, a wonderful confessor, and not someone who will lob in softballs. I would NOT be surprised if this had some impact on President Trump, and it could have solidified his trust in Bannon as well. Indeed, it's worth nothing that Fr. Rutler released an an awesome piece on Trump's Warsaw speech.
OK, tin foil hat time...maybe Bannon and Kellyanne and Trump had this planned out all along, i.e., they KNEW there were forces in and out of the Trump Transition team that would keep things locked up for a LONG time. They knew it would be hard to get anything done with McLame and Linda et al around. Perhaps, this trio of people who trusted each other during the election (and who's trust grew deeper each day) decided to keep things close to the vest. Then, deploy RINOs and various Swamp Critters in the Cabinet as bait to flush various Deep Staters out in the open, using Twitter as "cheese in the maze" to rile up and confuse people in the media (and Swamp citizens in the adminstration). In the meantime, start racking up wins via Executive Order and other levers at your disposal.
After the Deep Staters reveal themselves as enemies, BAM! - spring the bear trap, clean house, and start preparing for the siege in the fall.
Far-fetched? Possibly. But...God has changed the hearts of men with more "locker room talk" under their belt than Trump. This President plans things three or four steps ahead of everyone else, and he doesn't trust just anyone. If Kellyanne gets the job, I'm convinced it was planned months ago, and the reactions we'll see tomorrow are designed to beget WINNING in the future.
As we used to say in the 1980s, this is totally bitchin'.
Not totally far fetched. I’d put it this way:
Trump and his team knew that they didn’t personally know enough “Trump people” who were qualified for all the jobs. Not even close. They knew they’d have to rely on Swamp People for some of the work. Perhaps they thought that Trump’s success would also convert some. That happened with Reagan, who completely won over Jim Baker.
I think it was always in the cards to begin shuffling out the jokers and moving in reliable Trumpers.
Wondering about bolded, is Bannon Catholic? I know Melania is. BTW I like your speculations and they sound logical and likely.
>>OK, tin foil hat time...maybe Bannon and Kellyanne and Trump had this planned out all along,<<
Conway and Bannon are allies?
I doubt they planned this ahead of time.
But I do increasingly think something has happened in Trump’s personal life spiritually. Just look at how he speaks of religious topics. He speaks as a neophyte, a person new to something but serious about it.
I believe that God put him in office for a reason. I also believe that reason has not yet been revealed.
