A Washington town took action after a roadside memorial honoring veterans was removed by county road crews.
The years-old display of American and POW flags in the town of Preston was taken down after someone filed a complaint. Crews said they took the original flags down because they didnt have permission to be there.
On Thursday evening, angry residents hung up new flags. People were really, really upset about this, one resident told KOMO.
Another local man, Robert Cunningham, said it doesnt make sense that one complaint led the memorials destruction.
One person says they dont like it, and they take it down. I dont understand, he said. We live in the United States of America. This is our flag. Why is it offensive?

Are people allowed to have flags on their own porches/ homes? Every one should put those flags up on their private property.
What union represents the workers who removed the memorial?
Yeah, it was probably a WWII veteran. /s Go back to sleep.
The RATS love the tyranny of the minority over the majority. This time the majority has fought back. It’s popcorn time.
Not lighted at night would be another.

So, do you believe that all of the small American flags placed at the graves of veterans by the BSA and other volunteers for Memorial Day have to be lighted at night?
I don’t like all those expensive Median’s with Crepe Myrtle TREES in them, can I complain and get them remove, they impede my vision for turning and driving. They are a real actual hazard.
I see many US flags not lighted at night, on homes and businesses. It is not proper etiquette.
I was just adding to the other comment on reasons why someone might not like the way they were displayed.
