With NYS now offering “free” college tuition and NYC seeking to import every living organism on the planet that could be signed up for benefits, NYS will soon be composed of a city with roughly the quality of life of Mogadishu but with colder winters, plus a huge depopulated public park running from the Tappen Zee Bridge to Niagara.

This type of out-migration benefits the northeastern Dem party as it both imports Dems and removes non-Dems (working people).

This system greatly benefits Texas and the south which receive college-educated workers at no cost.

Everybody is happy except the working people in NY and eventually everyone in NY when the money runs out (like in Illinois). Then it is unrecoverable and the politicians will rely on the propaganda media to tell the citizens that it is someone else’s fault.

The 21st century leftist economic model in a nutshell.

Can we start up that Civil War thingy again??

People are moving South. Slavery is abolished.

The War of Southern Aggression could impose high 90% taxes on the North only, and watch them squirm. :-)

Having to spend so much just to get by can make getting out of debt seem much harder. And housing costs and taxes in many of these states are also sky high.

They figure taxes are in addition to generally high costs. They CAUSE the generally high costs.

Please tell your coworker that the carolinas are a horrible place to live.

The heat and humidity will kill you. Mosquitoes are horrific and will strip the skin off a body in one night.

The locals are pure redneck and hunt “outsiders” at night. The Hillbillies are something out of a horror film.

There is no culture, the food sucks and everyone is fighting everyone else.

Just trying to help. Please pass it on.

I can never understand people leaving a hell-hole for a better place THEN bringing their destructive voting and Social habits with them.

For what it’s worth, most of my relatives on Long Island voted for Trump.

Some do

But for the most part, the people who want to leave and can afford the move etc. are conservatives who have had enough.

And others have come to realize their own voting patterns have created the mess in the first place.

Some of us do come to our senses, ya know

So if everyone is leaving the states when will I be able to buy a 5000 square foot property in Greenwich Conneticut for $100k? Never?

I don’t mind the snow. I find winter a particularly beautiful time of year and all that snow provides an added feeling of security.

But the taxes and the liberal policies are asphyxiating. I have to stay here to care for family members and for work, but once those obligations cease I will flee. It will be like those cartoons where the characters ran through walls and left a cut-out behind. I will leave an impression like that in the state line.

It’s not one way

Look at Texas, The Old Confederacy, Missouri. No longer staunchly Dumocrat

That’s a very good point. It seems that liberals are always taking over some urban area but never the other way around. Instead of gloating about it and saying “good riddance”, we should be fighting to reverse that trend. Many “blue” states would be red if not for the cities. My state of Connecticut is one of them. Take away the urban voters of Hartford, Bridgewater, New Haven and Waterbury and very likely we are a red state. Lot of Trump supporters where I live. I’m also pretty confident we get a Republican governor next year. People have had enough. I’m sensing that in a big way.

You just might.

I know some folks with mini estates on Hartford West Hartford line who paid 750K for their place and had their neighbor’s place a bigger, better, more modern place sell for 365K. They will bankrupt.

Three reasons for people to move IN to a neighborhood;

Job

Shopping,

and

School.

There ain't no jobs, shopping is too expensive and Americans will be DAMNED if they'll let queer trans muzzies get their evil minds on their kids.

Those same reasons move people out.

Retiring and moving to Jonesboro, Arkansas. Hubby already there —we built a brand new 3 bedroom, 3 bath home for 2/3 of what our townhouse is worth in Northern Virginia. it’s a “no snow” area —a hubby “requirement”..... My last day at the job is Friday. I hit the road to Arkansas Saturday morning. At least we’re a conservative couple moving to a rather conservative state. We’re closer to two of our kids and our retirement money will go further.
Our place in NoVA was paid for; however, I have no stomach any longer for the crowds, the long commutes, the growing “blue” of Virginia.....I’m looking forward to a more sedate life and southern manners.....can’t wait!

I never knew that was a thing for Northeasters to move to Virginia of all places. But I know a family that did that very thing from Long Island to Virginia. I never asked “Why Virgina?” But I will ask you if you know of the reason why Virginia?

Wow. This is like a very large city of people just leaving.
Happened during the obama years too where everything was a paradise.

Excerpts: 1.4 million people from 2014 to 2015...
Since 2010, more than 1 million people have moved from the New York area — which includes parts of New Jersey, Connecticut and Long Island — to other parts of the country.
