Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigators were granted permission to search Justine Damond's home hours after she was shot and killed by a Minneapolis police officer, according to court records.
A criminal law expert can't understand why.
"When I read that search warrant, I really cannot find probable cause to search her home," he continued. According to court documents, investigators applied for the warrant on the following grounds: The property or things above-described was used as a means of committing a crime
The possession of the property or things above-described constitutes a crime.
The property or things above-described is in the possession of a person with intent to use such property as a means of committing a crime, or the property or things so intended to be used are in the possession of another to whom they have been delivered for the purpose of concealing them or preventing their being discovered.
The property or things above-described constitutes evidence which tends to show a crime has been committed, or tends to show that a particular person has committed a crime.
Asked if that means the BCA considers Damond to be a suspect, spokesperson Jill Oliveira replied via email:
"No, an individual involved in the incident."
Daly, who said he has served as a visiting professor at the University of Queensland in Damond's native Australia, believes concerned members of the public in both countries will be outraged by the BCA's request to search the home.
"It's going to cause an international incident," he said. "I mean the prime minister of Australia already talked about this case on international television, and I think Australians are going to go berserk if they think the focus is on this woman as a suspect."
According to court documents, investigators did not end up taking any evidence from Damond's home.
Surveillance video. However, I just read another post above mine that said there was no clear line of sight from the house. I don't know where that information came from, or if it is accurate.
Not from three possible Police cameras. 2 body cams and a dash cam.
How convenient!
Nor will they be.
yeah wouldnt you know right off that a loud noise was someone or something hitting the car youre sitting in and not in the alley outside ???
and yet they didn’t identify it as such right way ...
who decided she so called “slapped” the car ???
shes not here to testify...
Unless something in the circumstances turns upside down.
We are in the Age of Donald Trump. And he can’t fail to have had this blip on his radar, not with Australia complaining. I don’t put a huge amount of stock in the old rules.
That tells you all you need to know right there.
hes not going to say anything hes not Obama...
the defense can claim undue influence if he does...
but couldn’t the US Atty General do something to move this along ???
Well shoot, that never stopped Donald from tweeting.
both officers body cams were deliberatly turned off
This is standard M.O. when a cop performs an extrajudicial street execution. Character assassination of the deceased is as routine an element of police work as the neighborhood beat.
You may be closer to the truth than you thought. She probably caught the guy n the right pulling his head up from the driver’s crotch.
This is the oddest most perplexing story. Nothing fits. A beautiful, innocent woman is dead & they are searching HER house????????
Surely someone representing her was present during her house search??????
My guess is at they went in "searched" initially to plant evidence that they will come back later with another warrant to seize. It is obvious that they are trying to turn her into the perp.
Wouldn’t that be a scandalous story if so. Odder things have gone on in the little pop (Mini Soda).
But that remains a hypothesis for now. I pray that if it, or something equally evil, IS so, that something will end up removing the fig leaf from it.
The poor woman was nothing but a totally harmless, dippy dingbat lib yoga instructor who thought there may have been a rape, legitimately reported it, went to meet the police and assist them in their investigation, and got murdered for her act of civic responsibility by a radical Mudslime who was so upset he didn’t even know how dangerous it is to discharge a firearm inside a car.
I’m certain that they will come up with a finger or palm print from the car. Possibly DNA.
Justifiable Homicide.
“What is the matter with the people in Minneapolis??? This is the worst case of blaming the victim that I have ever heard.”
Minnesota is a bigger example of Massachusetts run by farmers instead of college professors.
Some here have hypothesized that the fellow might have even been personally involved with the thing that got the kumbaya lady’s attention.
R.I.P. to the lady. I hope she heard the gospel sometime in her life. And that at least on her way out Jesus said hello and she recognized Him. We will need Jesus’ power to bust this kind of evil.
