The Senate is expected to vote Tuesday on whether to take up health care reform, which will require 51 votes to open debate.
It's unclear what any final product will look like if that first procedural vote is successful. The first vote is intended to open debate on the American Health Care Act (AHCA), the GOP-sponsored Obamacare replacement plan that passed the House of Representatives in May.
Republicans need 51 votes to proceed to the legislation, which would then be subjected to what is expected to be a lengthy amendment process. Democrats are united in their opposition to the legislation, and if Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, is still from brain surgery and likely unable to vote, that means the GOP senators can only lose one vote otherwise the legislation collapses.
Rand Paul says he'll vote in favor of the "motion to proceed" because of assurances from McConnell Paul tweeted that McConnell informed him Tuesday morning that that the plan is to write on a repeal and delay plan that resembles a Senate-passed bill from 2015. He said if that's the plan, he would vote in favor of the motion to proceed to begin debate.

SHUT THE F UP McCain

X2. I guess that extra space in his brain allowed his ego to grow even bigger.
The POS is a democrat
If he's still north of ground level, that is...
You are more generous by letting McCrazy to kiss your ass. I won’t even give him the smell of my underwear. I despise McCrazy for the enemy within that he is.
Interesting.
McCain is such an asshat...
“We must come together and compromise....”
“If I don’t get what I want in the bill I will vote no....”
McLoser’s soliquoy is falling on deaf ears.
On the Dem side, it’s deaf and dumb.
How disgusting. You're a joke, Shep.
Appeal to Dems “to do one for the gipper”, where he is the gipper.
McCain just scolded the Democrats for Obamacare and blasted the Senate for not doing anything for the American people and then says he is not going to vote for the health care bill that would help the American people!
My God, no wonder the country is in the mess it’s in.
Oh, grief. That fag drama queen describes McCain’s diatribe as “one for the ages” and repeats McCain’s statement that Congress should stand up to the President.
Disgusting - all of them.
I knew John Mcmanchurian Candidate would leave his party down..the dims that is.
yep. Shep Smith should’ve been fired after Katrina. Why he has stayed on I have NO idea. Must have some incriminating evidence against the bosses. :-D
wouldn’t that is
Is mclametraitor still talking?
One had to put their extreme dislike for McCain aside to hear what it was he actually said which (paraphrasing) was that both Democrats and Republican's know Obamacare is broken and "something" needs to be done to restore healthcare in this country.
On THAT count, McCain is exactly right. I don't think there's anyone on FR who thinks our healthcare system as it is today is "just fine."
Having said that, get the Government's meddling hands out of Healthcare and let the marketplace do what it does best!
