Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Thursday that he plans to stay in his job despite the presidents public assertion that he would not have nominated Sessions to the post had he known that he would recuse himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
At a news conference ostensibly meant to announce the takedown of an illicit online marketplace, Sessions said he had the honor of serving as attorney general, and he planned to continue to do so as long as that is appropriate. Asked how he could keep working, having apparently lost President Trumps confidence, Sessions responded: Were serving right now. The work were doing today is the kind of work that we intend to continue.
Im totally confident that we can continue to run this office in an effective way, Sessions added.
On Wednesday, the New York Times published an article about an interview with Trump in which the president said he would not have appointed Sessions attorney general had he known Sessions would recuse himself from the investigation into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia to influence the 2016 election.

just cuz it was a surprise to us, does not mean it was a surprise to AG Sessions.
None of this makes any sense. There are really only two alternatives: (a) it's a 3D chess move; or (b) everything the MSM has said about Trump being unsuited is true.
We all would like to believe it's a 3D maneuver, but if he really did have an emotional outburst in front of sworn enemies, then we're in deeper trouble than we think.
On the surface it appears that way, but you never know. I grew up surrounded by dozens of ministers - friend and family. Some appeared to be pure as the driven snow but the secrets they kept were dreadful.
If there’s anything in Sessions’ background we can be certain the opposition has dug it up and using it against him.
“I’m wondering if Sessions could unrecuse himself since he’s already testified.”.......
Yes, recusals are voluntary & revocable.
Trump hired DAG Rosenstein who works for him in the Executive Branch and Rosenstein hired Mueller. Yeah Trump can fire Mueller and fire Rosenstein. No doubt about it.
Here on today’s CNN broadcast watch forehead and nutbag Begala cringe and shake at the thought as Jeffery Lord who said it on CNN. Forehead Begala knows he can while says it would be a “constitutional crises” [LoL] among other nonsense if Trump fires Mueller.
CNN: “Lord: Trump May Fire Mueller; 7-20-2017” Min 1:35.

There is a good case for conspiracy to commit and cover up mishandling. But not open and shut. Sessions did not recuse himself from anything to do with Hillary, so if there is a case to be made he'll make it.
Another liability. I wonder if he was flipped?
Yeah. Sort of on the same page here.
Possibility three is that Trump is President, thank God, and that's because Trump wins. Trump is still winning as best he can despite the completely unprecedented obstruction in Congress, mostly in the Senate.
Probably not before he has had time to destroy all the incriminating evidence they hold on Hillary and Obama, which is the real goal, destroying Trump is a bonus.
At this point, it would be nice if he "unrecused" himself. Mueller is setting up a beyond bizarre fishing expedition and seems to be avoiding anything that touches on the misdeeds of the Obama administration.
I wish President Trump would think this through. I can't imagine who he could get confirmed that we could trust. And without an AG, the swampthings are running that swamp.
Bingo.
Another crime. Hillary while as SoS approved the sale of 20% of US uranium ore, a strategic ore, to the Russians, and got millions $$ in kickbacks. So what federal statute did Hillary violated here?
There are no Super Secret, Super Genius plans. GW used them all up.
At the very least most of the donations from the Russians were undisclosed violating NY and federal law. The quid pro quo seems obvious but will be hard to prove.
Conservatives thought Jeff Sessions would be a great AG; they thought the same at first of Chester Trent Lott, Jr., of MS becoming majority leader.
